Love it.

As one who finds Rand to be 'sophomoric', there's a whole lot of Atlas Shrugging in those sentiments.:flipoff2:

Ha! Only slightly briefer than Galt's radio address - but every bit as inspiring....

and IIRC, Green Cove is on River Rd near the local Hatchery - yall are bringing back cool memories of fishing w/ Mo and making me want to head up that way again

So I've had sellers remorse since selling the 40 and seeing project patina last weekend didn't help my Jonesing for an old car again.

So the other day I saw a 1951 Willys on Craigslist for $1700. I thought it could be a fun alternative to a golf cart for taking the kids to the pool and could be a fun little project. So the ad expired and I never heard back from the email or text. He finally responded today.

His said:
"It will crank, it has a reasonably smooth idle and transmission shifts well, but as far as hopping on a public road, I just would not feel comfortable saying yes until either you or a mechanically inclined individual worked on it, particularly the brakes. They worked well last year;however it sat for a period. Recently I applied brake and it acted as though they were completely unresponsive. However if your planing on using like I have used which as a farm vehicle to take the little boat fishing on personal property or goofing around then really only thing i would do is brake repair, lubricate all zirk fittings, possibly improve the shocks, and run a couple cans of seafoam treatment in every liquid orifice the jeep has."

He has had it for 21 years but doesn't have a title. He said there is some surface rust but floors solid and no big rust problems.

Doesn't that seem like a good deal for a cool old Willys or will it turn into a money pit and waste of time?

Willys as in Jeep, Overland, Jeepster, Truck? Guessing Jeep from the description. They are cool but little more than your "golf cart" in stock trim. One of the Arkansas Crawlers (Jake)scored a really solid Willys Truck a while back. Blown apart for a project now but I would have loved to get my hands on it before he did.

Sorry, Willys Jeep. Yes the "golf cart" use would be for me to justify having another extra vehicle besides the 100. If solid and could be put back in running and driving condition easily, it could be fun. Sorry the post expired so no pics. Would be cool to rattle can olive for full military look.

Sorry posted in 120 thread originally.

Here are a few pics you can see in his boat ad

That Willys is escentially a CJ5 for the military. Cool points just went out the window

Eesh. I don't want the jeep herpes. If it is basically a jeep I'm not that interested then. Was hoping that era Willys was still cool like the WWII era ones.

No title? No deal. Ask @ntsaint All about that...

The title is no big deal I've had a bunch of old Willys Jeeps that didn't have titles and they are easy to get...but I would stay away from that one. Look for a late-1952 or older (MB, M38, CJ2, CJ3), they will have flat front fenders. Military ones should have a brass data plate on the passenger side dash that will list the dates of production and nomenclature.

Sounds good. Will pass.

On a different subject. Does anyone know an economical way to ship a m416 trailer? I found a great deal but it is near Montgomery Alabama and I can't break away to go get it right now.

Ask @landspeeder to get it. Toss him some gas money

Yeah and he won't sell the design. I tried... He did reprint them about a year ago and I got one. Not sure if they are still available.

PHONE RANT_______

I just spent 20 minutes googling if I could cancel my iphone with Cspire and 40 minutes on hold, as it's out from under contract and I have a gov't issued phone just like it and I'm sick of carrying 2 phones plus paying the bill for my phone.

why is there NO WHERE on the cspire site that simply spells out how to call and cancel service>? it's nuts.

anyway, I will go in in person as my wife's contract is up next week. I'm hoping that threatening to cancel 2 phones will net us a deal on atleast her phone upgrade but CellSouth/CSPIRE has become as corporate as ATT/Verizon.

Im considering a beeper where only my wife has the number. sick of gadgets.

ok....

im done

Yup; gotta do that s*** in person. It's the only way to get anything done.

I hate this heat! Over $300 at the vet today for my bloodhound chewing herself raw then come home to my central air freezing up and the house near 90. Ugh!
