What size john Deere you have.
It's an older JD with a 17hp Kawasaki motor and 48" deck. The expensive ones that are 5K new.
Not the crap china ones at home depot, etc...

I bought it used for $1200 but has kept the 8.5 acres we have trimmed nice.
I only fine cut around the house yards and then rough cut the rest once month or so.

Awesome Chris.

I learned to drive in a willys jeep on 80 acres stuck between hwy 18, Raymond road, maddox and Mcdowell Rd. it is still not developed and has grown up from a pretty pasture to a scrub forrest.

Man I would give alot of money for one day of reliving those memories.

damn, I bet that's a nice one! sounds crazy but I have stuck mine several times and a rear locker would have been real handy.

pics of your tractor? post up in the small engine thread

Took the boat mudding. This was last weekend .. I thought my yard was dry enough...8 o
Nope
Had to unhook the boat ..winch the 80 out , then use the winch to get the boat turned and out of its own ruts so i could hook it up to the hitch and pull it out. Some redneck engineering was involved to say the least.
Atleast the Kids loved the new yard attraction

Exhaust is too hot

Or shorted the sensor

It was pretty unhappy being in 3' of standing water. I was doing good with a bow wave but it was getting progressively deeper so I had to stop and do a 180.

That reverse landed me no clutch in firstb all skippage. I revved it as high as I could, dropped it in granny and it caught.

Ran like s*** for a while. Pulled the air cleaner and it was soaked.

I let it all air dry, hosed the intake with Sea Foam and it's running normal now.

Got lucky. These trucks are tough as hell.

"Man is a tool-using animal. Weak in himself and of small stature, he stands on a basis of some half square foot, has to straddleout his legs lest the very winds supplant him. Neverless, he can use tools, devise tools; with these the granite mountain melts into light dust before him; seas are his smooth highway, wind and fire his unwearying steeds. Nowhere do you find him without tools. Without tools he is nothing, with tools he is all."
