I was in town Monday. Sounds just like my 100.
The sun may have made mine look silver after all the pinstriping
My paint resembles somethingish. Was at the mall area on Lakeland
Drive and at lunch at newks. Is that the area where you saw it.

MSU's long time radio announcer, Jack Cristil, is retiring this Saturday do to illness.

Love or hate MSU, this guy is a real piece of work. I've been quoting him for years. He's gonna be missed.

Not sure where to put this but wanted to see if anybody
Might be driving from Jackson to somewhere close to Memphis.
Possibly might need to mudship something.

Thanks

I guess we'll never again hear the phrase: "the maroon clad bulldogs in their maroon headgear, maroon jerseys with white numerals and white trousers are 80 yards away from the land of milk and honey"

I will miss him because Jack is the only person I have ever heard call a MSU game but it was time I guess.

Fixed.

Some of Jack's best moments were when the Dawgs were at their worst. This means he was at his best a lot.

One of his best calls was when Auburn was beating the brakes off of us in 2003 ish. "Cadillac Williams to the 30 to the 20 the 10, 5 touchdown Auburn. All Cadillac Williams had to do was run without tripping and he did it beautifully."

He also threatened to jump out of the press box while playing UAB in Bham if we didn't convert on 3rd and short. Then he exclaimed loudly how glad he was that we made it because he didn't realize it was such a long fall.

Counting tubas out loud on the air as West Virginia was beating us by 50 was also a classic.

He was told countless times to quit smoking in the press box. That never stuck.
He was also told he had to quit using the phrase "never stood a Chinaman's chance." He kept forgeting he wasn't supposed use the phrase, then would apologize to all of the Chinamen listening.

Sonic sponsored the post game wrap up where he was to give a play by play recap of MSU's drive of the game. After one whippin he proclaimed the Sonic Drive of the Game to be "Mine back to Tupelo, and I hope it's as uneventful as this ballgame."

The guy was a big part of my childhood. Pretty sure I'm gonna be chopping onions in a dusty room as I listen to his last game.

I was refering to a year when there was no maroon piping on the trousers! LOL!
