This one was faster in the quarter and to me is the ultimate muscle car.

DROOL!!!!!!!! my cousin had a convertible that was rattle can grey and would melt tires in 2nd gear:steer:

Imagine how fast that (or any muscle car of the day) would have been with the tire technology we have today!

insane........not to mention the aftermarket bolt ons ......all though alot of them are just designed to get your money and don't do anything.

that same cousin had a 76 cruiser and he still kicks himself for selling both. now he has a land rover.....heheheh

what is crazy is most had 4 wheel drum brakes...

my 66 mustang vert had them and i loved them....nothing like sliding to a stop with a go cup in your hand in NOLA.

I hated the color of the 911 but the modified engine made up for it but the man hole covers and the streets in NOLA played a part in the sell of that car.

That was the baddest production car at the time....it was illegal to race NASCAR after Richard Petty wipped everyone's ass for 2 yrs....that is when everyone learned about downforce.

a real hemi engine from that era is real stupid money....

cars from that time are things of beauty....that is when americans knew how to build a car. It is actually amazing that death rate was not sky high when you had 300 to 400 hp on s***ty roads and 0 handling.

I like'm I love'm I want somemoreof'm but...

Consumer Reports Cars Blog: 2011 Ford Mustang V6 vs 1970 Mustang Boss 302: Who's the real boss?

That's a '70 BOSS Mustang vs a V6 2011 Mustang. I would imagine the results are similar for the MOPAR's and Government Motors.

Now, like me at the dinner table, there is no substitute for cubic inches. That big block rat motor in the Chevelle is badass.

mustang for cruisin and the 911 for track days.
Since Bomar pulled his out a little, here are two of my favorites from the past. The '71 442 convertible with the W-25 hood was mine (the one on the left was a buddy's '72 442), and the one below is a 70 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible. Compared to either the 'bird or the Chevelle, the Buick was a REAL sleeper! In completely stock form, the Buick's 455 was rated at 510 lb.-ft. of torque! (AND out of the 233 Stage 1 convertibles they made, this one was the ONLY 3-speed manual).............yeah, you're right. I wish I had sold it 2 years ago and not 19 years ago, because the last one I saw up for sale sold for $245K!

The baddest: LS6 454, 450 hp 500 ft lbs of torque! The LS6 package with either a M22 "rock crusher" 4 speed or a turbo 400 auto was an extra $1000. Money well spent in my opinion! I have seen severl articles that say that the engines of that time were grossly under rated. Everyone was cheating on the numbers.

Here's one for Bomar! Guess where I am and who the car belongs to!

My last Chevelle. Hated the color but a super nice car.

I'm going to say that it is one of Uday's Sunday drivers over in the sand box.

Jeff is younger looking, wearing a brown military tshirt (that went with old style BDUs), there is sand all over the car, he is tan, and it's in a garage with a euro van (very common in Iraq)

I second this guess.

oh and the picture title is Udays porsche:D:idea:

I was going to say when he worked in a parking garage parking cars and just saw the movie "ferris bueller's day off"

Yeah in a bunker in Iraq. I guess he hid it there thinkin' they were gonna win. One of the guys with us evidently had car thief on his training record and he hot wired it. We drove it around for a while.

Here are 2 really cool trucks that we had over in Kyrgyzstan. The Koreans had these little KIA's and the Aussies had the turbo diesel Cruisers.

too bad you couldn't ship it back. what a souvenir.
the spoils of war!

I didn't drive a muscle car, but back when I was in the pimp-game, I used to swerve around in one of these... The brotha's in their Caprices were scared to even look my way at stoplights.
