Only problem is, it is fugly with the top up. Looks like a PT Cruiser soft top, instead of a truck/SUV.

i see what you mean fire truck41 pity and the chrome wheels in that link just dont suit it either

thanks for the link nuclearlemon

Ige, Did you get to see how they reinforced the doors and made it all work..

it would seem that the rear doors would need a new place to attach too.. also a cage to reinforce the body and give some sort of protection in a rollover

That bling convert FJ got me thinking that I'd like to see a slant back FJ soft top. A top that looks less like it came off an audi and more like it came off a military truck.

Call me crazy, but the FJ Cruiser just doesent do it for me. I think they soccer-mom-ized a once rugged, legendary off road vehicle full of military heritage.
The lore and mistique of the Land Cruiser seems to have gotten completely emasculated. It must be true what they say, that they used to make cars with personality, now they are all the same.
Someone please convince me otherwise, maybe an FJC owner.... what is so good about this car? Are you truly happy with it?

I think the vast majority of people that bought one got it because it was a step up in ruggedness for them. For someone that has been around Land Cruisers for a while, it can be seen as a step down from ruggedness. As for me, I have a hard-core wheeler, and just needed a daily driver. It was a good mix of dd, and ruggedness.
Just my $0.02

Oh, and it's not a car. ;)

:confusedI've seen some pretty cool pics of the FJC in serious action in this forum, I see this vehicle can deliver, I can appreciate the daily driver aspect to it.
still not fully convinced though.

for me, a factory optional removeable hardtop would change my mind A LOT about the FJC's. oh and do something about those tail lights while you're at it toyota!!

oh yeah, almost forgot..... rear jump seats!!

i don't think you're crazy. i think they're fugly. but i've wheeled some challenging trails with them and they are also very competent. now that "softtop" pickup looking one at sema...that i liked...toyota needs to change their minds about making that one.
