Condenser Search - Please help

Hi,

I am looking for this condenser on my 1978 FJ40 with electronic ignition. Can anyone help me find it?

It could be but it is supposed to be a 78 diagram and I've just pulled that out my FJ40. It looks very OEM as to how it is installed.

Could be a supressor to keep the noise out of the radio. There's one on the alternator usually.

any parts store will have noise suppressors for the coil. If your radio is quiet it's probably not needed.

I would reconnect it as it was originally if you can remember.

I can, I just can't seem to find a replacements that has the two wires attached to it. All other seem to just have 1 wire. This is supposed to ground to the negative on the battery as far as I can work out from the wiring.

It's an oddball condensor/ suppressor. Never seen a 2 wire one before. Chances are if you leave it off it will be fine.

Thanks for your help. I will try with it off and keep my eye out for a replacement. So far all my searches have not provided me with any results.

Just to confuse the issue further. Apparently there's a "semi-electronic" ignition from 1975-77, that has a points dizzy.

mine is definitely fully electronic. Thanks to both of your help and Cruiser Outfitter I have found it. 90980-04021 is the part number and seems impossible to get hold of.
