HUH ? Oh..... CT
Gotta replace 8 small roofs on the house over the Summer. Probably better to bite the bullet and get a compressor and nailgun so I don't have to shlep myself to the rental place each time. I wanted a compressor anyway.

What psi do I need to run the nailgun? Any recommendations on brands of guns that are cheap, but will last the job. I think I want a good compressor and a cheap nailgun.

A 125 PSI compresor should handle any nailer. The nailers I have seen require 70-120 PSI.

I am not sure about roofing nailers, but I had a Harbor Freight brad nailer that didnt have the safety device requiring that it had to be pressed against something to fire. I picked it up one time and stumbled a bit and it fired. Luckily it was pointed towards the floor rather than me. That thing went in the trash afterwards. Just be careful when getting the cheap Chinese nail guns and make sure they have the proper safety mechanisms. You don't want to shoot yourself.

if all your looking to do is that roof, then buy one of the compressor/nail gun sets. they are only a very small step above the hf c**p! a set that includes a sized gun that will work for your project, that is. the comperssor will be cycling away, a lot more that a comercial/rental one. but it will keep up with most home hobbyists.
