Hi Guys
i looked around to see if there is an actual classified area for this and didnèt find one,if so please have it moved.
Last saturday I rolled my JDM Hilux Surf at 0 MPH,just sort of fell off a hill where I was parked,Yes I feel very very stupid.I love this truck!!
A couple of cool thing things about this truck that may be of interest here.
the truck is registered here in Canada as a 1980,yep they made a mistake at entry and it followed right through to registration,I never had it corrected ,I didnt really care,I was not going to sell it anyways.(It really is a 1990)
the really cool thing about this truck is its a LN131,what that means is its a 2.8L diesel 5 speed,not the 2.4 Turbo that cracks heads all the time.
The LN 131,was a more basic truck,no power locks ,no power windows does have AC ect.
I put a brand new clutch in about 4000 Kms ago,and the truck has at present less than 65,000 Kms,when I bought it ,it had 34,000 Kms,turns out it didnèt need a clutch,it was just surface crap on the flywheel,but since it was opened put it in.
The truck runs fine,it just got smooched behind the rear doors and a bunch of dent and dings all around.
For someone who want to do a diesel conversion its a 100% complete truck,this one even had the cold weather pack with a fuel bowl heater and dual batteries from the factory.
I am trying to find a guy that wants to take on replacing the roof here in Montreal,if I do I will keep it,but if not I will sell the truck on.
I wont put up pictures unless there is a bunch of interest,there was no other vehicles involved,no insurance claim made yet,in any case it was only insured one way,so its not salvage at all,I had just had the roof repainted 3 months ago due to sun fade and now I wrecked it,so I am not pleased with myself.
It fell back on its wheels and I drove it home 100 Kms.
I would need to get 5000.00 for it,I know some of you may think thats a lot for a wrecked 4 runner,but where do you get a Diesel 4 runner.
The biggest piss off for me is I live in Quebec,so now I cant even get a replacement Surf from japan as they have banned RHD here in this province,hense my reason for trying to repair it.
First 5000.00 or so get it,an amazing truck,bone stock,with a frame that looks like it came out of Toyota yesterday.
and you get every concievable piece you could think of for installing a diesel into a LHD 4 runner,or you might find a better guy than i can to repair it,and you can have a legal 1980 Hilux Surf Diesel of your very own.
I think 2K or so would do the roof and then some,but I will let interested parties decide,if you want pictures let me know directly
