Colours are a tad in your face! - is this a browser setting or what?

I fully agree, too many clashy colors. the background is distracting. Yellow and white text, on blackish background...very '80's See if you can get us up to the year 2005 at least.

Of course I am almost legally blind in one eye and deaf in the other, so what do I know :)

bronze color is based off the IH8MUD logo color, maroon mouseover color is as well.

I'm not sure I'm gonna keep the background image...bit much for me, and I'm still tracking down a few of the CSS colors to change them too, there are literally dozens of them, and not always easy to track.

fortunately, I've got a demo forum on line that I'm making tweaks to so stuff here doesn't go haywire.

removing the background art really helped. The mouseover color works fine. If the bronze were somewhat more subdued, and the black not so black you would have a winner. I am sure the rest is just adjusting to change.

is it just me and my 'puter, but i've got white boxs and red X's all over the place.

that and i have to log back in every time i leave and then return to the site.

let me guess, AOL user?

see the other thread for fix options....

I'm a scared a change!!! *shiver*

I want my old green mud stuff back *snivel*

Seriously though. I luv the changes, but I agree that the black is a bit much. I did like the green from before.

Now if I can just get my old username back :D

OK.....
before you start yelling, I just realized that the mud forum was more of an olive brown/gray that a green....
I was thinking about another forum

I really liked the alternating colors to seperate posts in a thread though!

great work so far Brian!
keep it up!

Naw .. I like the black . The clarity of the posts against it is exceptional .

Still wish Brian would move the smilies we had before into the new drawer here ...

I liked the alternating colors too, hoping to find that hack. It was enough to only get the software to use horizontal table lines tho, outa see the mess when every cell is blocked!

I agree, with the wallpaper gone, it's easier to see stuff.

Woody
I like it all just the way it is. The colors are perfect and i wouldnt change a thing

woody,
any chance of making background color a user-selectable option?
I think the white text on black background looks nice, but it fatigues my eyes a lot more than most pages

Could just be my monitor... maybe, but I'd like it a lot more if the black were maybe just a touch gray, or if the text were light gray. Less contrast, happier eyes.

I've had a dozen people offer to do a new color scheme for selection for the site...none have come thru...

changing background color means changing EVERY color in the forum...and the whole site for that matter....since all the forum and site pages are color schemed the same.

ooh! ooh!

how about molten fire ring red and burning hemlock green with burnt fleece gray??????

root beer bottle brown???

:D

I was hoping that vbulletin would allow you to put background color into the user-selected options in the cpanel. Something like "show smilies"... but .... "pick background"

No matter what color(s) you choose, somebody isn't going to like it.
In the end, I like the black, but when I spend too much time here after work (like tonight) it all starts to get blurry, which maybe is a good thing!! :)
