Color Wiring Digram for 1982 US Spec FJ-60

Hey all,

Just finished up drawing a color wiring diagram for my 1982 FJ60.
Took me just over 2 weeks, so I'm not doing another one any time soon, but i thought others might benefit.

There are several places marked with ? that mean the diagram didn't make sense to me, like a wire being red on one end and Red with a Black line on the other..

If you see anything wrong, or if you can correct the chart where the ?s are, please feel free to let me know and I'll update it.

when it stable I will also post a vector version, so you can scale it up to print any size.

Just printed this out 3' wide to go on my garage fridge on top of the diagram for my Fj40, and thought I'd bump this in case people had forgotten it exists.

This is literally the only place I posted it, Though I did include it if you buy the vector version on my etsy...

if @Coolerman wanted to add the low rez version in post #1 to his site I'd be okay with that. It's plenty big enough for normal useage.
His site was so helpful on my FJ40, that it just seems fair.

I considered making a digital one during my V8 swap but it’s significant effort and I don’t have a good tool other than Visio.

It'd definitely be a big undertaking. I've got the tools and the knowhow.......enough knowhow to know that it would take a TON of time and patience that I can't spare

Curious @caladin what software did you use to draw this up? Back in the day I would've used Macromedia Freehand (yeah, REAL back in the day) or Adobe Illustrator.

I did it all in Adobe Illustrator, the wife is a graphic designer by training, so we had a copy, and has all the Adobe certs, so I could get help on tap to figure stuff out. I never did get illustrator working on the new box, and we lost the disks.

I never figured out how to get it to draw 2 color toyota wire lines by drawing just one line, so I drew each line twice, a 3px wide background and then a narrow 1px stripe down the middle.

That wasn't really hard per se, but it was a pain the backside.

I was not kidding when i said it took me 2 weeks of working on it nightly, first I had to draw everything black and white, get all the text and icons matched up. Then the unending tedium of drawing all the wires. then another pass going back and adding all the places the wire hopped over another wire.

But having the Color Fj40 diagram from Coolerman up on the garage fridge was so nice, that I had to do it.

Someone with a nice Autocad license or similar, I think it would be doable. Like you said, would take a week or two to transcribe

My brother has another 82 and dad also... I think.. , but we have a hj60 too at the ranch, I might draw that up, but I'd need to get the model, I think it's south America and chase down a diagram. .

I wonder if you can train an LLM based Ai to do it, it's, seems all the data is there if you had enough toyota wiring diagrams in color to train it with.
