GCC engines it is. I would assume VZ 70s 1FZs would be closer to the GCC market than AU market.

Frank time to get me a 1fz Vz or GCC specs please.

Lets look for one!! Wonder if we can get the cams from VZ for my engine.

One of those says SAE-NET and one says SAE-GROSS.. possibly explain difference?

LC heaven got tentacles all over LC hell so it will be found in a few..

Got the PN for the cams you're looking for?

Does your 1FZ comes with the plastic air filter assembly or the regular metal one like our 80s?

Apparently they are all the same cams for the 105 1FZ

105 Series
Intake: 13501-66030
Exhaust: 13502-66020

US Spec 80 Series
Intake: 13501-66020
Exhaust: 13502-66010

I will be reusing the metal air box.

The cam was just a guess based on how the max HP moved up in the RPM range that usually happens with cams or longer intake runners. I didn't think the intake changed. I am not sure what it might be, could just be timing changes.

Awesome @Bardiya I wonder what changed between the GCC 1FZ and the AU 1FZ. The GCC one has more HP. Any idea?
The GCC versions don't come with catalytic converters and oxygen sensors (except Saudi Arabia 2003+)
Not sure of any other mechanical changes.
All of them come with M-OBD and not OBD-II till 2009 when production stopped.

List of changes.

Yup same as Vz 70s and Autanas however the Autanas never got coils just the 70s but both remained M-OBD & w/out catalytic converters and O2 sensors.

The Intake numbers are different??

Wow, so this page documents the 105 1FZ-FE coil pack engine, is that correct? I'd love to see the quick connect fuel filter connector.

@FloridaFJ80
Frank,
Sorry if you've answered this question already but I didn't see why you are tearing down this coil pack engine? Is this for a simple rebuild due to the mileage? I figured you'd just grab the engine mate the H151 to it and stab it in your 80.

Yes that is correct Ali.

I opted to do a quick tear down to put in a new headgasket and all new seals. The block seems to be in good shape, engine had 180k KM on it so its in good shape.

The quick disconnect fuel filter is the same as the 100 series one. Here is mine.

Ha, I was looking all over the place for an O2 sensor on my FZJ100... that explains why I couldn't find it... would the increase in HP be purely generated by the EFI system? IE GCC vs Aus....

Wicked cool project Frank!

Also interested in the idea of a quick connect fuel filter and line!
Filter is mounted on the fender as opposed to under the intake on the older model.

So I got another Toyota care package came from Japan. Havent opened it up yet. I also got notification that all my US based Toyota parts have shipped. So I will be ready to start working on my truck really soon. In the meantime I got the block and pistons cleaned. I also removed the timing cover, man removing the Oil pump cover was a breeze. No stripped screws. Turned out very nice. Cylinder walls are nice and clean.

@scottryana the crank trigger sensor is magnet based.

The head will be going to get decked and vacuum tested as well as all new valve seals will be installed. My H151F will be here on Monday so I can start on that. Havent looked at electrical yet, but will cross that bridge when I get there. I have a general idea of what to do.
