What is the small hole on the tops of the pistons for?

This is awesome Frank!

I talked to a Vzlan friend that has done a few swaps 71s 1FZs into 80s. He sent me some pics of his current 80s.

I think even the latest VZ coilpacked 1Fzs are different than 105s GCC / AU market

@burbuja96

Thanks for the pictures. I would be curious to know what he did to resolve the engine harness? Did he extend it?

If your friend could provide the part number for his ECU it would help in answering this question.

The latest coilpacked 71s with the 1fzs in VZ came out with these ECUs

89666-60111
89666-60671

I was told that one was for the "JP" version and the other one for the version manufactured in VZ.

My friend had no issues with the wire harness, probably because the 71s is also LHD so he had no problems with the length whatsoever

Those are new PN's to me, and of course not the same as the 89661-60700 that the OP is using.

Well some more parts have arrived from Japan and stateside. Still waiting on some final parts to arrive from UAE, but I have enough to get started with my build.

This has been a busy week. Our 40ft container arrived from Colombia 2 days ago, so we have been busy unloading and prepping everyone's order for shipping. Along with everyone's stuff, our Land Cruiser Heaven H151F 5 speed conversion kit arrived for the 80. (Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series 5 Speed H151F Conversion Kit)

Had some slow progress today. I got my head ready to send to the machine shop. Removed all the valve caps and labeled and bagged them. Here are pictures of the head before it goes to the machine shop to get decked, and pressure tested along with all new valve seals. Also sending my flywheel to get resurfaced.

I really, really like that combustion chamber design over that of the GEN I 1FZ. It is much better. I should just cut my losses on the head I have done all the porting on and have you get me one of these. ugh.

Bought the gasket kit for the H151F and dug into the H151F. Replaced the front bearing retainer seal. Will be digging into the Oil Pump Cover to replace that seal and the oring.

Thats a beauty!!! Let me know if you need some help sourcing one I can help. I wouldnt thinks selling your head would be too difficult to recoup some costs.

Last week I had sent out my injectors to RC Fuel Injection in California for cleaning and testing. Well they are back. I am always glad when I get them back. Its good to see the before and after for each injector. Definitely recommend them for injector cleaning.
