So I have decided that in the interest of why not I am going to 4 link the 62. Just wanted to know if anyone had any particular coilovers they were fond of and why.

I would prefer not to pay 500 apiece for king's...dont get me wrong they make me drool but that's a little steep for the moment. I am not making a trophy truck just want the challenge I guess.

Any recommendations?

Planning to do both, although I would probably start in the front and work my way back there.

No recommendations on specific coilovers, but you are going to need a lot of lift to run a front 4-link unless it's semi-parallel/panhard, and in that case why not 3-link it?

Check out the TMR Customs kits, pretty comprehensive.

How high would you guess it needs to go for the 4 link? I would go the 3 route but given that this will be somewhat of a DD (I commute on a bike but rain + motorcycle = sadness) and I'd rather have it on 4 that being the case

I'm looking doing a coil over conversion with a set of 80 series diffs, my fabricator and I are looking at just running a flipped radius arm set up front and rear,
So the same as what's on an 80 ser, but put the arms on top of the diff instead

All of the options out there are fine. Kings are the top of the hill option, but they all work in a similar fashion.

I have Sway A way's on my 40 but have used FOA's on a couple other rigs.

Tuning them (valving) for your specific rig is the biggest thing..

What motor are you using?

Like I said, depends on the set-up you do, dual-triangulated or parallel. With dual triangulated you have to go with full-hydro (no longer legally a "street" car) so that leaves you with a semi-parallel with panhard and that is just a 3-link with an extra upper. The difference being slightly less force on each individual upper link under braking as there are two upper links to share the load. Also good luck getting a driveshaft in there with two cris-crossed links in the way.

I'm no expert on this yet, I'd like to be as I plan on linking my 62 front and rear as well. All I can say is go to www.pirate4x4.com and read everything.

You do not have to go full hydro with a 4 link. But there is also no reason to go to a 4 link on a front suspension. 3 link w/panhard will give road manners that are fine. There are ton's of jeeps out there with a three link front.

Radius arm suspensions are perfectly acceptable as long as you do not need gobs of flex as well.

What's your endgame here? Tire size?

End game...I guess tire size is part of it but not the biggest priority. I know I could just go SOA but...I really want to do something different and challenge myself to do something unique I guess. I don't necessarily need it to flex like crazy, not planning on doing too much crawling. Just kind of a solid platform that has good manners on road. Again, big part of it is just to make it unique and build it how I like it...I'm sure you all can relate.

3FE...for now. I figure I'll run it until it decides to lose compression and die on me, if that ever happens. When that does i'll throw an ls1 in there. I would like to do everything at once but suspension issues seem to be more of a priority at the moment as it is pretty awful :bounce:

do a radius arm suspension then. Easy peasy..

Not exactly apples to apples comparison but....

80
Radius arm front, 4-link rear

LJ78
Radius arm front and rear

That's really interesting. It's starting to seem like a better idea to go with radius arms in the front and 4 link the back. On road performance would still be good if I went that route I imagine right?

Thoughts on going that route? Anyone on here done that same setup with a 60?

Taking inspiration from 88chevota and cam, that is my plan as well, stock 80 radius arm setup up front with ORI Struts and 80 FF rear axle in the rear but with leaf springs in the rear, probably Chevy 63" or Ford 53" sua.

The ORIs seem like a great setup removing some of the issues with tuning the springs, adjustable ride height, and removing the need for bump stops and sway bars leading to easier packaging. It'll cost dearly up front but I've read and heard the ride is really great.
