2 months ago I had a coil go out (posted on this forum about it back then, #7 coil was bad) I replaced this with a Denso 673-1303 Ignition Coil, I figured Denso is a reputable brand and it had good reviews on Amazon. Today however my mother in law was driving the car and said it suddenly smelled really bad, check engine light came on and started chugging. she parked it right away and this evening i went over with my obd2 reader. when i plugged this in and turned the ignition to power it I heard ticking over the speakers (not sure if that is related but never heard it before) and it started to smell really bad, like a short or burned plastic. The obd2 reader said there was a misfire in #7 again so I checked the coil which indeed was smoking and molten plastic had dripped down.
Is this just a faulty coil or something and should i re-order or is something more serious going on? it kinda worries me to get the same coil but then it should be a really good one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

so a little more info:
i just got the coil out (or what was left of it) and it pretty much melted all the way. also the spark plug is halfway melted. looks pretty bad.
so any idea what to do?
i'm afraid plastic melted on the sleeve and most likely dirt got into the head.
any advice on how to go from here?

thanks!
