I am hopefult there will be a GREAT turnout from the ALCA at the Coal Mine cruiser Classic. We've offered to lead runs and with any luck we should be able to offer five or six trail leaders to the event. I've been leading trails for years (with Matt Reed's help most of the time) and it's rewarding. It's a great way to meet new people and often to help people get their feet wet (or wetter!!!) in the land cruiser wheeling scene.
I had hoped to do some tech inspection but that doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Shutdown starts at the steel mill where I work on Friday and I will be balls to the wall for five weeks. If we can offer some trail leaders and display our banner at the campground I think that will be a good representation from our club.
I'm staying at the Comfort Inn outside of Pine Grove (off exit 100 of I81), Matt Reed will be there along with Tom Humphries and hopefully Todd Oldenberg. It's a good quiet place, relatively close to the event and various restaurants, and has an indoor pool and hot showers. Free breakfast too. Me and the piggy will be at the campground Wednesday night for socialization (read: beer drinking) and I can hardly wait- it's only five weeks from tomorrow (I think!).
Who all is planning to attend from the club? This is the premier event of the year in our area and there aren't many good reasons why we shouldn't have a good turnout. Let's have a show of hands and see what we can expect from the ALCA! Gary S
