No denying that fact!Steve if you hit the trail at 9 and drive your normal speed he will catch up with you by lunch.
Dang. We really do need to hit the trail around 08-09 time frame each day. If it's a nice weekend, I suspect both trails are going to be VERY busy. The first good bit of the trail has a dirt road next to it that could be used to catch up to us if you arrive after we go out if it comes to that.
Here's what I propose: Whoever is there Friday night will have our rigs ready to go at a moment's notice. This way, we can be ready to go at the first sign of other rigs starting to show up Saturday morning. But, with some luck, maybe we won't see anyone real early and can wait a bit longer to give others some more time to show up and start together.
Yet more options: Instead of rushing at all, you could take your time Saturday and just wheel up the trail until we run back into each other coming back down; You could drive around to the top and possibly meet up and wheel back down with us; You could meet us at Billing's Canyon on the south side of town that evening for the Sunday ride.
Ha! That is also a valid point. However, this trip might be one of those, for me anyway, that I'm going to be wanting to "go" all the time.I'm struggling to imagine a group of toyotas hitting the trail that early. I've just never seen it before.

You can come to GJ too. 21Rd has a rough dirt road next to most of it that makes bypassing any of the obstacles very easy. Not the case at Billings, but you can ride.Although I won't be running the same stuff you guys will I'm going to want to see as much as possible.
Well sir, there's your problem right there.Yeah............ The life of a married man.
This has been an ongoing search of other forums to try to figure out. I think the consensus is that your chances are okay on the roads right around the trails, but don't venture too far if you can avoid it. I think most everyone just went ahead and tagged their rigs to be on the safe side. Most of them are nowhere near meeting any definition of street legal, but the tag office doesn't know that so it's pretty cheap insurance IMO.Andy asked a couple pages ago who else had rigs that are not street legal. It looks like just him and I. Will there be any issues as far as trail access for trailer only rigs? It seems like I read somewhere (and now I cant find it) that you had to be street legal in parts of either Canyonlands National Park or Arches National Park.
First "tag line" of the trip.Oh, and Andy, you really should trailer your junk out there![]()
From my thread on RME4x4: "There is a City Market on 24 Road which is open 24 hrs. Sunday night at liquor stores... depends on which one. The Fishers Liquor Barn is one of the biggest (and about 1/2 mile from City Market) and I think they close at 6 pm? And no low % beer is allowed in Colorado...Look on the bright side: A few of us are likely going to CO in the middle of the trip so, if they have "normal" stuff in GJ, we can restock for everyone before heading back to Moab.

Tow rig and trailer ready to load
If anyone wants to look up directions to Billing's Canyon, use "Bang's Canyon Trailhead" as the destination. Google says about 48 minutes from 21Rd trailhead so I figure right at 1hr with towing.
Ok, now I want to go! So this trip took, what 3 or 4 years to get together. That should give me time to put something together to survive that... That is going to be EPIC!!!
Wait, so that means you didn't already want to go??? That is kinda surprising and disappointing. :/Ok, now I want to go! So this trip took, what 3 or 4 years to get together. That should give me time to put something together to survive that... That is going to be EPIC!!!
