Its a little rough but the price is right. Ok maybe a lot rough. $350. Had a friend go look at it for me. It has the typical rust issues but I have more time than money so it will be a fun little project. Going to pick it up this weekend. I figure if its too much worse than he tells me I figure its worth more in parts anyways.

Looks like an air conditioner under the dash there. Interesting.

It's worth a lot more than $350 for parts, but it looks restoreable to me.

If that "lumber rack" is an original factory soft top frame, it's worth bank. It looks like it.

The dash has been f'd with more than an old whore.

I likely won't part it out. Although I probably would ditch the soft top frame for a full on roll cage. I've been wanting to restore one of these things for years and am finally getting to it since there's not much more I can do to my 4runner without going to tons and links. I gotta be working on something. Plans are a stock drivetrain with 32-33" tires max for buzzing around town. Who knows what will happen though. It realy depends on what it looks like once it in my driveway. Ill get better pics once I get it home as I have not even see it myself yet.

Sent you a PM about the soft top bows.

Its blue, the rims are white wagons, you can't go wrong.... although the bib is upside down

BIB POLICE NEVER MISSES

Congrats on a good find!

I'll buy the soft top frame if you're going to not use it... PM me if interested. I come to SA often and could pic them up.

Sound's like I've got a lot more reading to do. Bib? I'd done a lot of reading in the past on these rigs but getting one hase been on my back burner for a couple years and this one kinda just fell into my lap. Guy's been hounding me to come look at it for about a year. Knowing what these things are worth, I wouldn't have offered less than a grand for it, then my buddy went to go look at it just to flip it and low balled him at $250, so I offered my friend a $100 finders fee for going to look at it :D

These things must be made of unobtanium with rhodium plating or something. I'll start the bidding at 1 birrrrion dara. LOL. Sound's like I may kick myself later if I sold them. Hmmmm

That's about right. They ain't cheap for reproduction ones, and stock are next to impossible to get.

Sorry guys... :hmm: let me know if everyone else backs out.:hillbilly:

Take your time before you try to start it. Pour some Marvels mystery oil, or similar, into the cylinders and let it sit for a few days before you try to turn it over... Turn it over with the plugs out... And throw it back together.

It hasn't been run in 3 years but ran when he parked it. I expect to go through a few cases of PB blaster taking everything apart. The first thing I do will be to get her running. Going to go through the carb, replace all the fuel and brake lines, likely all the brake components, etc. I've got access to a full shop our family business since 1926, and we have a small machine shop at work, so everything will get bead blasted, cleaned, painted etc, as necessary. The only thing greek to me is the carb work. Other than my first gen pickup, everything I've ever messed with was fuel injected, and it was only 6 months before I put a 22re in that beast.

The carb isn't too bad. Just watch out for the small bearing that falls out when you turn the main body upside down. Also, the gaskets aren't all symmetrical... No matter how much they may appear to be. If you flip the top one over, it'll run like cr@p... Don't ask me how I know.:D

My cruiser sat for 12 years or so. I pulled the plugs out, poured a little light weight oil in it, pulled valve cover to inspect, put about 1/4 of carb cleaner into carb, and cleaned with toothbrush.
bled gasoline, new gas, new gas filter;
new spark plugs and cleaned up rotor+ cap contacts, and she started
heck, not even $100

dont sell the bows....full cage will fit with the oem sof top...you will regret it when you learn more here,,,,you can use the york comp. for trail air tools and tank....its more easy to find a 21 year old Virgin than OEM soft top bows....just saying...

Got her home! I stopped by the shop and cleaned out all the trash/soggy leaves, then went to the car wash and sprayed the hell out of it. Everything behind the seats is gone as I expected, the windshield frame is a little tweaked, cancer on both front fenders, bezel is bent up (and upside down), rusted rear quarters, rust hole under the fuel door... I'll get some good pics tomorrow in the daylight
