Ive been amped for the last few weeks now especially since the weather has started to change. Seemed so far away when we were at GSMTR but the time has flown by.

I can also happily report I did not touch a wrench, pair of pliers or a screwdriver this weekend. I needed a break so I took one and its been damned nice.

I guess this week ill start pulling my camping and spare parts together and figuring out how to make it all fit.

Less than 2 weeks to rig delivery.

Regarding GJ, we discussed this a few pages back and thought we settled somewhere around the 10th for 21 Rd. But thats just from memory.

Getting there, got trailer done and out of the shop today, couple more days on Little Red them a few days on wagon, I see the light.

The abs in the 3rd gens is a train wreck anyway. Lots of guys just pull the ABS fuse and go without. You tried that?

Haven't pulled the fuse but I unplugged the control until under the hood, no change with that.
After some more research the plan now is to swap in a mid 80s gm pu/blazer mc, supposed too fit with slight modifications, and eliminate the ABS control unit at the same time.

10th is that Saturday, so yes, that's the time I have in my head too. Just a matter of when Andy, and anyone else wanting to attend 21Rd (including us from Moab), can get there.

I thought you had departure already set? In my head I keep thinking we're meeting you in GJ Saturday some time. Then, depending on the time frame we meet up, there's a few options: 1) Wheel 21Rd Saturday, camp, wheel Billing's Sunday and camp or head to Moab, 2) Wheel 21Rd Sunday morning, Billing's Sunday evening, camp, head to Moab Monday morning, 3) 21Rd Sunday, camp, Billing's Monday morning, head to Moab.... or any variation of that really. In all likelihood, and my best guess, both trails probably cannot be accomplished in one day.

That should work just fine. GJ is only about 4 hours from me... not towing. Where do we plan to stay in GJ?
I'll be there the 10th at some point in time before noon.

Not towing and riding with Steve could be bad combination.
For whom? It'll probably take me about 5 hours to get there towing my rig.

Skid plate off for the first time in a couple of years.

Isn't yours a DD Jason? If so, that's probly the difference. Mine probly has 20 street miles and 100 trail miles in two years. I've probly swapped diffs five times each end, swapped front shafts three times, rear shafts once, driveshafts twice, wheels/tires twice, leaves three times.... shall I continue, or do you feel better yet? Haha

I'm still in. Originally I was/am planning to leave central tx sat the 10th. I'm going to look at the calendar when I return to work tomorrow to see if I can leave a day or 2 earlier and meet y'all at 21rd.

I have a lot of work to do, but I can hopefully give it another shakedown before the trip. Going to kick ass on it this week.

I think what Roger is trying to say is that wheeling with Steve tends to lead to a higher than average percentage of carnage than your typical group.

Now, that said and looking at some of the rigs in the "hardcore" group I'm pretty sure none of us/you is a stranger to hitting the harder stuff at all and would also bet the percentages are near 100% fun and 100% breakage.

So, to Roger's point; having a tow rig is a much better option than pushing your broken arse rig 400 miles home.

I see said the blind man......
My "not towing" comment was meant as, GJ is only 4 hours from my house not towing my rig.

Thanks for that explanation Ted. I didn't quite put it together either. Thought he was somehow referring to how slow I crawl, but that didn't compute.

who all has a go pro? what size card do you use? what kind of video/picture equipment do people plan to bring?

Haven't looked into where to stay, but when I was there years ago, there was a great place to camp right near the beginning of the trail. Looked like an amphitheater made into the canyon wall. There's also a cool place in the middle of the trail; kind of a cave that sits above the stream. Might be cool to shoot for that since we'll likely be getting a later start on Saturday. Also need to decide if we want to wheel back through or drive back around from the top. Really, that'll probly have to be decided on the fly that day, but having a plan is always nice.

Ted and I both have them and, for once, will probably br using them. They're a bit of a PitA, so I don't use mine much. SD cards from 2-32 are fine. Battery life usually ends before storage space does. And I have a basic digital camera I store on the shifter for quick access.

Yup I have one w/ 2 16Gig cards. I'll bring my hunk o junk laptop to dump the vids on at night if need be. And on that note I do have a small projector, was thinking it would be cool if I brought it for viewing the days events at night. Is this just stupid or should I find room for it?

That and jus' my cell phone for pics and vids of other rigs.

Battery life does suck. For this I bought a skeleton mount and thinking I'll pick up a 10' USB cable to get full time power to the camera.

It's just me but if I had the option that puppy would be on a trailer.
