To fellow 80 dudes:

Anyone interested in an 80s run for Sun 1st Aug (trying to plan ahead?) in Colorado.
If that date don't work suggest some others?

Haven't had an organized one for awhile.
Was thinking Hackett Gulch but that's closed for another year.

Anyone got ideas on some trails? Its up for grabs!
Could consider doing a two day with overnight camping on Sat (if not could plan for next trip).

Once get some interest will check-out trails and post on 80scool and i8hmud
Pass along if know of any other 80 dudes interested in coming. Can either bring rig or hop in with someone else.

Update:

Ok- trying again to see who's around for upcoming weekend. Can do with either Sat or Sun. (or even following w/e if everyone's busy :)

Option 1: Mosquito Pass (rated #4-5), highest road in North America (come in via Fairplay 285) and goes over into Leadville, on way back N to McAlister Gulch and Shrine Pass to get back onto I70 (W of Frisco)
2: same again but go out W via Hagerman Pass (rated # 2) and go Nw and come out at Eagle
3: same again but come in via Breckenridge and do optionally Wheeler Lake (rated # 6?) or Mt Lincoln (rated # 4?), Mt Bross (rated # 4)

4: do Old Flowers Rd and come back via Buckhorn Rd (NW Fort Collins) - easy rated # 2

5: Pole Hill, onto Estes Park and then S via Pierson Park into Johnny Park and back out onto Rd 36. Rate it # 3

6: Kingston Peak (rated # 3-4?) (up from Idaho Springs off Fall River Rd) and then onto FR 353 N and then run Jenny Creek (rated #6) and back out via Rollinsville

7: Moody and Crystal, (NW Fort Collins) (rated # 4-6)

8: Storm Mountain, (NE Estes Park) (rated # 4-5)

9: Kelly Flats and Seven-Mile (NW Fort Collins) - rated # 4-6

10: Green Ridge and Bald Mountain (W of Fort Collins) , rated # 4-6

11: Rampart Road (1/2 of it, rated # 2), then onto Longwater Gulch (rated # 5-6) and then ??? (not sure if can go N for some further trails or back to Colorado Springs?)

12: Red Cone (rated # 7), onto Radical Hill (rated #6) onto Webster (rated # 3) onto Middle Fork Swan (rated #5) and come out ?
Need Steve Crase to jump in as he lead last year and it requires some guidance!

All depends, whose up for it, what level of difficulty, what experience/lift/tires etc., how long a day u want, want it to be a family outing etc. etc. etc.

Anyone got ideas on some trails? Its up for grabs!
Could consider doing a two day with overnight camping on Sat (if not could plan for next trip) but would bring family/kids/dog along.

Pass along if know of any other 80 dudes (re-post other boards) interested in coming. Can either bring rig or hop in with someone else.

Bunch of us are coming into Silverton from the Midwest on 7/30/04. At this point, I have no idea what the plan is so I'll just wing it! I understand that there's another group staying in Ouray as well.

CO 4x4 trip: Red Cone : Sat 7th Aug

Ali,

Looks as if consensus for an outing is not this weekend but next weekend. So at moment seems to be Sat 7th Aug.
Most requested trip is Red Cone, Webster, Radical etc. or as many as we can pack in that day.

If anyone is interested or wants to hop along for the ride - drop me an email

Looks as if five 80s at moment

That Mos. Pass run sounds good. Is that nasty bog still there? Then again I haven't done Green Ridge in about um... 12(?) years. Wow.

Wish I could make it. I won't be in CO for another 2 weeks past that. I expect pics! :D

Hi Guys!,

I finally got around to registering.

I'm interested in mainly day trips from the Boulder/Longmont area. Nothing too hardcore since I don't have the cache of parts, tools, and knowledge yet.

SAt 7th Aug wil be Red Cone and associated off-shoots. It wiil be an easrly and potentuially loong day - epending on what options we take while we're there. Steve Crase will lead and knows that area very well. Last year we had some tires busting and it was a looong day.

James shout me an email or give me a call and I can let u know of some easy trails around.
