My 1994 80 has 243k miles right now. I dont think the clutch has ever been replaced and it still has the original "Bus" tranny. i will be taking the cruiser off to college come august. I'm trying to take care of any big issues this summer while im still home so i wont have to many problems with my high mileage cruiser at school. How long should my clutch and tranny last? do you think the engine will go before the tranny? also, i imagine i will try to take the truck in and have a big service done sometime this summer. Any suggestions as to what to do to avoid any problems. I.E. engine service, axle service, etc etc

Thanks, Brandon

Uh Brandon-It doesn't have a clutch. If it works, I would just concentrate on the usual maintenance issues. With that kind of mileage, the tranny will eventually go, but it could be tomorrow or 3 years from now. Change out all of the fluids, the belts, and maybe do the front axle rebuild. Stuff is going to break, so be ready with a pile of $$ if you can't fix it yourself.

hmm

maybe he has a 5 spd in'er...

Nope if this is the truck I think it is, I have seen it and it is an automatic.
