I have a 69 FJ40 that is all stock. Everthing has been rebuilt. When i got the 40 the clutch master and slave cylinder were missing. I purchased a JT kit conversion and it seemed to work fine on the first few short outings. I took a 30 minute drive in town and the clutch started slipping. I adjusted the throw out arm and it seemed fine. After another 30 mintues the clutch started slipping agian. After another adjustment and a stiffer spring it is doing the same thing. The hotter it gets the more it slips. It seems as though the slave is not releasing. The throw out bearing is disengaging the presure plate. When it cools down everthing is fine. ???? In all the years i have been working on these things i have never seen this one. ANY IDEAS or help woud be great!!!

is the clutch master adjusted right ,if not the fluid wont drain back into the master and clutch will slip .i have even had some small dirt specks partially plug the hole in the slave .since yours are new probably not it . good luck

Thx for the advice Shelfboy1 ! I discovered that the slave cylinder was out of round...... This was brand new and did not even come close to consistent tolerance. It just goes to show YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!! I don't think i would recomend JT clucth conversion ( or for that matter ANY parts) to my worse enemy.
