clutch slave rod length

when replacing my slave cylinder the rod that came with it is alot shorter than the rod that was on it. the one that came with it didnt even reach the clutch fork...why is this

Manufacturing inconsistencies....Use the old rod....

I was out of slave cylinders, so bought some from SOR, forgot to specify length of rod, so they sent me shorter FJ60 rods, which I had to trade for longer FJ40 rods. Perhaps this is your problem too???

I had to use different length rods when I went from 3 to 4 spd.
