Clutch fork -> pivot

Hi guys,

I’m currently installing a w56 transmission in my 1980. How does the clutch form mount on the pivot? Here is the style fork I have (off my old g52 and the same fork that came with my w56a).

Does that clip fit over the pivot ball so it is physically retained? Or does the pivot just ride inside/on top of the clip? Looks like the ball has been deforming the clip, but I haven’t been able to find any pictures online.

I couldn’t see what it looked like when I pulled it out and the clip on the w56 is broken/loose.

yes. they are sort of clipped onto the pivot ball.
