here are some pilots for our new stickers from Steve (Lurch). incidentally, I was cleaning up my computer room and came across a small envelope of our old stickers. I'll bring them to the next meeting.

give suggestions on favorites and changes for Steve here on this thread.

I like the round black with some changes. Yellow sticker with red Zia and TEQ. Red or black Lettering around the outside as is. NM tucked in behind cruisers. Some of them look a little busy. Thanks Lurch!

They're all well-done, but my favorite is the yellow state outline withe black oval a close second.

Thanks for all the hard work; I'm partial to the black and white circle. The orange on the bottom (shape of NM) really hits the vintage just right too.

Very well done. Not to be difficult, but I think a very easily identifiable one would be the bottom center inside an outline of the state vs. the rectangle.

Can we move on from 40's and get an 80 up there?

Preferably on the side of 550 with a blown HG?

(just joking..I like the 40)

Beno's joking aside, I like the two round ones, particularly the black one. Loosing the iconic 40 may be a good thing at this point since it will end the argument about which model should be depicted, especially since there are so many models welcome in the club these days (FJ Cruiser, 40, 70, 55, 60, 62, 80, 100, pick-ups, etc.).

I'm liking the black circle too, but actually do like the ones with the 40 for the reason that it identifies the club as a toyota 4x4 club, not a low rider or street racing, etc club. most people may not recognize it, but other toyota 4x4 owners that may be interested in the club would. black round though is still my favotrite for asthetics and visibility on a tinted or nontinted window.

I see your point about the potential for confusion about the "cruiser" aspect. A quandry. I guess that if the iconic 40 needs to stay it should be very clearly recognizable as in the lower two examples - the upper ones have the 40 as difficult to recognize because it is so small. Also, in the lower two examples "TLCA" is presented - we're not an actual chapter anymore right?

Very nice work Steve!

Can the last image be made with turquoise blue like the new license plates?

- we're not an actual chapter anymore right?

yes, we still are technically a chapter.

edit: and that was purely for arguement's sake. I really don't feel it has to stay personally.

I was liking the simplicity of the black and white sticker the most, until you said this. I think you are right. Of the five with the FJ40, I think I like the orange one on the lower right. I would remove the TLCA. Since it's on a NM outline I don't think we need to say New Mexico.

Do you mean like the orange one, but in white?

Of the five with the FJ40....

Technically, I still own a 40. It is not drivable, but I still have it here.

I like the black one the most, but also agree that a 40 should be on there. Could a 40 coming out of the Zia be applied to that?

We could do another sticker with the teq in the zia symbol. Just a thought.

Actually it should be easier to see 40 in person...should have made all the designs the same size. It was easier to export all designs on the same file instead of separately. Which makes it hard to see detail...

black round though is still my favotrite for asthetics and visibility on a tinted or nontinted window.

The black design should have a small white boarder around it. Black stickers actually tend to disappear on glass that is not back lit. So with a white boarder the edge will be defined on a dark or light surface. Old sign shop rule on glass ;)

The black and white design is intended for single color vinyl lettering. In other words the black letters would be white individual letters with open space in between. Much like the Mountaineer Cruisers sticker.

All the responses are great please keep them coming! (good or bad) Planning on getting back to Sign and Image next week sometime to do some more work and tweaking. I'll try to make versions of all the suggestions so we can see what they look like. If anyone has a logo design they have seen and would like to see done as a HDC sticker design post up a pic and I'll see what I can do.

Also we are not nailed down to one design for output! We can have 2 or 3 sticker designs that we get printed. That way everyone can choose what goes on their vehicle.

that is a way cool option I think! thanks!

Any of them would work for me. All good efforts. Despite the fact that I drive a Tacoma, I'm for keeping the 40 image. And Lurch is right, any of them save the white oval will pretty much disappear behind tinted or non-back lit glass w/o a white outline or white drop shadow..

Here are the new designs based on everyone's comments...well at least my interpretation of the comments;)

The top 3 are just white vinyl (on gray so you can see it)...
