Anyone know where I could get to snow this weekend? The closer the better. CO, UT, NM maybe?

Please let me know. Kids looking for some sled time....

Thanks

Cool, thanks...any recommended spots to check out in the Greer area? Never really been that way.

Thanks

Flagstaff

Maybe by this weekend.

I drove down highway 87 south of clint's well. Around the rim you could see a little snow in teh shadows. Not enough to play in. There is a play area called Chin Hook play area at the junction of Highway 87 and Highway 260 out of Camp Verde. But the Forest Service has closed it the last couple of years because of the cost to clean up the mess the vistors were leaving behind. Further up highway 87 there are spots to pull over and play in the snow when they have it. Here is a link to ADOT camera at Clint's Well. This area will have less snow than right on the rim but it will give you a idea of how much of snow to expect. There are more businesses in the Flagstaff area but the rim usually will get more snow.

For sledding I could show or give you directions to places near Greer ( I live about 30 mins. from there). No snow now, but depending on what we see in the next couple of days they might have enough. I'm guessing that they'll get around 6" where the most common hill is, which is cutting it close. Usually we've got a lot more this time of year, but Dec. has been warmer than Nov.. hoping I get my $ worth from ski pass this year!

Dadgummit, we just had a nice steady rain for the last hour and it looks like the tail end of this one.:frown:

Hanigan's meadow looks like a good spot.

Did any snow fall yesterday and last night? Enough to sled? I would be interested in finding that sledding spot if enough snow.

Thanks

Last I saw Snobowl had received 11" or so, but that was last nights news. I would expect quite a bit more fell last night, and NOAA is showing another small storm on its way in. I bet if you went up to Snobowl you could sled on the lower ski runs. I was thinking of going up and skinning around to see what the base snow is looking like, the mountains around Flag get a fair amount more than what they record in town.

I haven't heard how much the higher country got. If you are up this way give me a call and I can at least give you some ideas to get muddy and hopefully find a spot for sledding. David 928-369- eighty three-20.

Ended up going to Williams. No snow in town, but Elk Ridge ski area had about 6 inches on the ground. Amazing what a difference in about a 15 minute drive. We sledded and tubed some. Snow was not very packed and did not lead to very good sledding. It was nice to be in cold weather, though....:)
