I am looking to get some more ground clearance on my 40, the t-case is really the issue, I am looking to possible rotate it up a few inches, has anyone done this? pros, cons,
So you know I have a turbo 350 with an adapter to the stock t-case.
Thanks in advance,

There is no easy way to clock the tcase..

With a machine shop it could be done tho..

Anything can be done. Why would be the question. I suggest if you need to clock a case, use one that has a divorced shifter. Re engineering a stock one is going to be a pita even after you have the case machined for a turn. Orion is easy to clock I think.

I was thinking about drilling new holes in the adapter, although looking at it now it probably wouldn't work

My bad, your already running an auto tranny. It should be super easy to turn that. You are going to make your driveline angles worse when you do it though. Maybe a double cardin would be in order.

You would be looking at making a new adapter.. You can't redrill that one. It's possible that they make a clocking ring for that adapter, but you'd be sacrificing spline engagement on the tcase input.

Orion would be the same or harder than stock, it's the same case except much thicker cast steel.

That's why I said body lift, that allows you to get the drive train higher in the frame. Kind of screws up the center of gravity though.

Buy another frame and weld it under the stock one ;)

Apparently bud built made a clocking ring at least once. Tis would probably work for your setup.

Atlas basically requires a new rear axle.

Actually stuck my head in there last night, (I still have a neck cramp) looks like I pushed the linkage up as high as it would go so I don't have any room between the linkage and the floor, think it's time for something different,,,,,Humm, suggestions?

for a short while I contemplated replacing the fuel tank with a cell behind the seats, cut the floor to allow the t-case to be raised until I had a flush belly. As others stated the rear drive shaft angle would be quite severe. My other choices were Atlas or Dana 300. You could build a hybrid truck/LC rear axle to get a centered diff.

I have only caught up on my t-case bump a few times so it wasn't worth the expense and effort to me.
