Clock not working...suddenly (1 Viewer)

I know its not a priority thing to most, but its a big deal for the wife...so much so that she called me at work to tell me about it! :lol:

Anyway, I went through all the fuses in the fuse block and found nothing amiss. Am I missing something here? Is there a fuse somewhere for this thing? All my signals seem to be working, or at least I think they are. At least I can hear the relay going when I switch the signal on...
 
Time to pull it out and test your clock repair skills.

Hahaha! Ok ... I was hoping it would be something simple like a fuse or something like that. The clock is 24v right?

If it has a fuse, I suspect it would be inside the clock itself because Toyota didn't separately fuse other similar things (like the tachometer, fuel gauge, oil gauge etc).

As far as being 12V or 24V, I think it would match your vehicle. So if your vehicle is 24V, then I'd expect your clock to be that same voltage also.

Hopefully when you get it out you'll find some writing on it ... including the operating voltage.

(I know Toyota had both 12V and 24V clocks made for its landcruisers.)

If obtaining 24V for testing is a problem, I suggest you undertake the repairs within your vehicle and rig up something safe using the voltage available there. (Where there's a will there's always a way. :D)

Ok, just checked my owners manual and it stats that the clock is on the same fuse as the dome light. Who knew the owners manual had such good info eh! In fact it had all manner of good info ...

Anyways, my dome light works fine, so yep, time to break out the clock! Thanks for the input Tom.
 
My HJ60 clock is working only when it want, but still keep the time correctly when the display come back. Last week I removed it from the dash ( 8 screws), tap it and is working again. Each time the time disappear, if I hit it the time is back...

It's frustrating to not have the chrono or the alarm...;)
 
Weird. Like you biche, my clock just decided to start working today. What the heck eh ??!!
 
Reviving this old thread. My 12V clock has seemingly withered away and now died. Seeing the replacement values of these clocks it seems worth it to try and repair it. After opening I saw some bulging capacitors and other components that could be faulty, but I am not a great electric wizzard. Has anyone tried their hand at repairing these clocks? TIA
