I have just sanded the clearcoat with 2000 grit sandpaper. I am now ready to buff it out. What is a good buffing cream to use and also has anyone used the Harbor Freight polishing pad (The $6.99) If not, what is a decent polishing pad to buy. I've gotten this far and definitely don't want to ruin the clearcoat... Thanks

use mcquires system. Start with a med grit, and work up to thier high polish stuff. Theres like 15+ levels, but you only really need three. One for fine scratches, one for reg buff, and one for final polish.

I use 3 - 7 - then 15.

Pad doesnt really matter that much. But I use one for each type of polish.

And a nice wool fuzzy one for final... Got mine at local paint supply...

I am sure it goes with out saying, be very careful around rounded edges, and make sure to move the machine, you can burn the paint in seconds. I use an orbital ( like a da) polisher now. I also use 3000 grit wet paper. The finer the scratches the easier to buff out. Just my 2c..
