I'm still in.

Guys, we're sooooooooo close now. I've seen the proofs, and they're freakin' dreamy looking. I could be a bit bias though, or just excited, but hey this has been a long time coming. But could be as soon as next week, I'll start a new thread when it's all a go and yes there will be enough for everyone, so no need to post up your interest though it's great to see, thank you for all the support here.

I know I promised you a sneak pic, so here it is. Sorry it's so blurry, but no flash, and I'm kind of shaking a little bit.. :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2: :grinpimp:

I got mine today. Awesome.

I think it was just posted up...

Mot,

Don't worry. I think Nakman posted up info about this stuff in the last 12 hours. If I am reading my tea leaves correctly, go here to order all of your plastic needs:

Gamiviti - freshly grated parmesan for your Land Cruiser

Pretty cool site. Paypal links work good, too!

Errrr, Tim???

Alright Mot, full disclosure: As of 07:30 this morning, I don't actually have the shipment of lenses yet. They should be at my house this afternoon though. I do however, have a couple sets remaining from the initial pilot build, and a few guys who have begged and pleaded through PM's got the chance to get in early with one of these first sets. :D I also have used the last week and these first sample parts to get the web site up and running, so that when a big box of lenses arrives I'll be able to hit the ground running, and fulfill all of your clear lens needs in an expedient fashion. I hope that's tonight...

So I will post up again when it's official that I've got lenses in hand, and safe to send me all your money. Until then I'm trying like heck though to not receive payments on anything I don't have in stock... but hey wearsabrowncoat glad you got yours and like them, let's see a pic! :grinpimp:

groucho/nakman,

Thanks for the info./update. :hillbilly:

I haven't read all of the thread carefully, but Pimp said that it fit his 60/62 ARB, but do you/we know if the 100 ARB's lenses are shaped the same???

I'll hold onto my $$ a little while longer and wait for the go sign!

Here are some pictures. I needed the clear lenses for the aux light application I was planning. Basically I stripped the inside of the ARB turn signal and replaced it with a couple of these LEDs (magnifying 25 degree 008 (3W)): LED Module Aluminum Housing High Power
It isn't a true fog light but it gives me some light below the ARB and off to the sides.

By the way, I need some more goodies from your new website. Looks like some more quality stuff.

Where did you get the LEDs?

Where did you get the LEDs?

eBay Motors: 2 x 1156 Super White 63 LED Light Bulbs 7506 1141 382 (item 380114400077 end time Apr-06-09 16:41:58 PDT)=

and

eBay Motors: TWO - HYPER WHITE 1156 2056 48 LED LIGHT BULBS (item 390038124816 end time Apr-16-09 16:30:54 PDT)=

of course from our friends at eBay. At the time, it was the best deal (price and shipping) for the bulbs. If I were purchasing today, I would recheck the listings for a better price but it is still going to be close.

Be very careful on the 63 stack bulbs. To get the compression needed to get it in the slot, you have to carefully distribute the pressure, and slowly turn it into place. While I did not learn the hard way and they may be far more robust but I really thought I could have twisted them apart just trying to get them into the slots. The 48LED's are put together in a way they are fine, while they are fine for the corner markers, I doubt they will fit into the ARB slots, I did not try it but they seem too wide for the compartment.

While the photo looks like I have the headlights on (which is not the case) the photo only includes the corner marker lights and the ARB bumper lights, LOTS of LIGHT!

Nice, would you post a picture with the main headlights on for a light comparison?

Lights comparisions. . .

Sure, here they are:

Top: Low Beam and LEDs
Middle: High Beam and LEDs
Bottom: No Beams! and LEDs

One caveat, :censor:cell phone camera but that's what's available at the moment.

(Also, note the trailer in the foreground, that may also give you an idea of the illumination.)

And without the Hella's!

Thanks cruiserunc,

I was looking at those LEDs but wasn't sure how bright they would be so I went with the LEDs I posted earlier. It ended up being much more work than your solution. I do wish I could see your lights in person, would you say you have appreciable more light down and to the sides?

If you havn't done so already I would go back and add lots of clear silicone to seal up the lights. If your housings were like mine they weren't well sealed from the elements and I doubt those LEDs like much moisture.

So I am guessing you wired the ARB lights into your parking lights?
I went with Slee's aux jumper harness with a switch for power - also much more work and more expensive than your solution.

We should do a separate write up from Nakmans sales thread for the lighting section of FAQ. I'm not a big fan of the redundant turn signals in the ARB so the extra lights for driving are a big plus with me. I especially like a little more light off to the sides. I bet other people feel likewise.

I don't know enough about how to move a thread but that would be fine with me. Good idea on the silicone. And to wiring, I did not want another flashing light so you are right and I don't like to splice into a wiring harness lead, so, I wired them into the parking lights. I have replaced my marker lights on each front fender with sealed/closed housing LED's and had already made a tie into the factory harness with several pig tails I created. I just added a second lead on each of the pig tails to tie into the ARB lights.

As to lights down and to the side, you know, just based on the recessed nature of how the lamp housing is mounted in the ARB bumper, other than some ambient light flooded into the area, I can't say it (light) is there in a significant way. Nevertheless, just turning on my parking lights gives me enough light to drive through town of a night. At 60-75 on the highway, no way, but around town, sure. And, if I am working in front of the bumper and need some light, there is ample white clean light without killing the batteries using the headlights.

This is cool stuff guys. I have been working on some replacement housings for the ARB that use the clear lenses, but incorporate some cheap LED driving lights, also a rearward facing rock light. Corbet gave me that idea, so my payment to him is a set of these delivered to Cruise Moab, which is falling quickly upon us. I'll admit though you guys have me rethinking a couple things with some of the lights you're using, very neat stuff.

But regardless, even though they're not awesome driving or fog lights, it's still a cool way to use those marker lights in the ARB, beyond another set of turn signals. And hey if it means more guys want clear lenses, well... :grinpimp:

If cruiserunc can keep the LEDs dry his solution is cheap and easy.

It sounds like my 3W LEDs put out more light since when I turn them on there is a noticeable difference in side lighting, but at 4 modules total it isn't cheap. Also, the second LED module was a bear to put in - only good thing is the modules are waterproof so I don't need to worry about that aspect. I'll have to add pictures later.

Either solution gets rid of the redundent turn signal and replaces it with something more useful.

they look bright no doubt.

I'd like to see the same 3 pics, but looking outward to see how much light is projected onto the roadway..
