Can I ask if your using the regular magic erasers or the heavy duty version?

I believe the regular one tears apart easily, at least when I tried it on my seats with some all purpose cleaner. :(

Usually I'll use the heavy duty ones. The regular will work as well, just gotta be careful haha.

When you say careful you mean don't scrub to hard with the HD ones?

Or be careful b/c the regular ones will break apart to easy?

I'm ready to get some of that Megs all purpose from Amazon and tackle my seats next week.

I soaked both rears in the back of the cruiser moving it all day for heat from the sun for five days in a row and each day put on more Leatherique oil and they are still not clean or clean enough for me to be happy with them.

Argh! Time for drastic measures...

Thanks to everyone for the seats cleaning advice. I ended up taking out the rear and middle row benches (but still have to clean the front seats)

I never got around to posting much of the rig itself so here is a quick timeline:

Bought it with rear bumper damage:

Picked up a set of Tundra 20's with Open Country 33's (need a spacer up front to fit the center cap).

Also took off the running boards

I always use saddle soap on my seats and it works great. I use it on the two saddles I own as well as my boots, so one day when I needed to clean my seats I figured if it can clean, soften, and condition those so well I didn't know why it wouldn't do the same for leather seats. Tried it and I was blown away by how well it worked - much better than the Lexol/ArmorAll products that I do not believe in. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of my seats but I plan on cleaning them again later this month and I'll take a few when I do. Saddle soap also provides excellent water & stain resistance without leaving a residue (if you know how to use saddle soap properly).

How do you use saddle soap properly?

When I use it on my boots, I brush the loose dirt off my boots, then get a cleaning rag damp, rub into the saddle soap and then wipe that into the leather and let dry. then I follow up with a clean, dry rag or towel and wipe off the dried saddle soap residue. Or I will use my shoe shine brush to brush off the saddle soap residue.

I do a very similar process: first I get a damp rag and scrub the loose dirt from the seats. Then I get a separate damp rag with saddle soap on it and liberally apply it to the seats. After coating the whole seat I use a leather brush to scrub it into all the cracks and crevasses. After letting it dry for an hour or two with a plastic bag over them and sitting in the sun, it will turn hazy and that's when I wipe it off with several dry regular rags. Then I do a final wipe-down with microfiber rags and after they've been completely cleaned I'll let them rest for a day before I sit in them.

I do a very similar process, just let the saddle soap sit for a longer time: first I get a damp rag and scrub the loose dirt from the seats. Then I get a separate damp rag with saddle soap on it and liberally apply it to the seats. After coating the whole seat I use a leather brush to scrub it into all the cracks and crevasses.
