Hi guys , I was just looking at my headlinger in my new to me lx450 ...I was looking at my headliner ...it's a little dirty anyone ever try and use some type of cleaner on the headliner with out having it coming a-part .
Thanks

Used foam type carpet cleaer on mine.

I've used Folex and a sponge with great results. Just don't get it too wet and don't scrub hard.

Go to WalMart, find the automotive cleaning products aisle, look for something called Tuff Stuff, it's a big spray can with a yellow lid. Follow the directions on the can. Works awesome, especially on headliners.

I rented the local hardware store power furniture cleaner, used it also on the carpet. Not bad.

I suppose we don't need to remind you that the headliner is (very) fragile and (very) pricey, right? be careful :)

Yup.

I use a sponge and Ivory dishwashing liquid. As others have mentioned, don't go at it like you are killing rats.

I used my wife's steam cleaner. Worked nice, but I noticed a couple little spots on the sunroof slider that I missed because it was slid open when I cleaned.

I removed the B-pillar cover and tested it with a Bissell Little Green mini hand cleaner wet vacuum and a 50/50 mixture of water and Folex carpet cleaner from Home Depot (which I have used on carpet for many years with great success). It worked great on the pillar cover so I got bold and did the whole headliner. This latest truck had been smoked in (cigars) and after two full passes on three days across the headliner, it looks absolutely brand new. I was amazed at what came out in the discharge and I couldn't be happier. Neither the Folex or the water caused any damage, and because I didn't scrub it with anything, the headliner looks new and isn't rufffled or fuzzy.

:crybaby: YA WUSS!!! Real men pull it out and replace it with 1/4 in steel plate.

Maybe the other 80 ... when I put the spare cummins in it ...I could say only real men drive diesels ... because the lx is the old ladys ride ...LOL
Later

I'll second this, I got a little axle grease on my headliner and was amazed when it came out with Tuff Stuff. I've never found any spray on cleaner that wotked any better and it's pretty cheap too.
