This is a clean adult driven North Carolina 80 series with no rust. No accidents. Clean Carfax. Just hit 263k this week driving back from Virginia. I have owned this 80 series for several years and extensive preventive maintenance has been done. I've tried to document everything at NC LX450

Please take a few minutes to read through the thread on IH8MUD to see the care gone into it.

Not documented is I recently had the first and second rows leather recovered. Has perforated middles front and rear and seat heaters in the front. Land tank extensions on the drivers seat and new seat gears. Gear shifter is currently at the upholstery shop being recovered.

Pm sent. Very interested.

Since it is a 21 yr old truck.
The issuesi can think of that could be a issue or you may not care is.

  • The switch on the driver seat to lean it back or sit up straight is broken off. It still works but you have to use a golf tee or pick tool to adjust it. I got my seat set where I like it and never adjust it.

  • The wipers sometimes don’t return to home when you turn them off. I replaced the wiper motor but it didn’t fix it.

  • The 3rd thing is the dent in the tailgate. I have been trying to get into a local body shop to fix this. I was quoted $300 to fix the dent and paint the lift gate.

  • The valve cover gasket seeps a little oil after a few months on the front. I usually take a little brake cleaner once a month and wipe it off. I have a new Toyota valve cover gasket that’s is included.

Other new Toyota parts included are:
New Toyota fan Shroud, heater valve on the firewall, fuseable links.

May i ask - what was your asking price? I'm trying to understand market pricing of this model.
This is not a good example to base market pricing. The seller was very generous in his pricing and most 80's
in this condition would normally fetch $10K-$12K. While obviously some do come on the market, like in this one,
very fairly priced they are also purchased within a 24 hour period by those of us who know what we are looking at.
So if you see an 80 in this price range that is so well maintained be ready to lay down a deposit or buy sight unseen
unless you are lucky enough to have the seller live very near by where you can actually go see the vehicle.
In closing it is a data point in your understanding of the 80's market but only if you also know what it is you are looking at and are ready to move very fast.

I appreciate the response, ATXFJ80. I have been lurking and reading up for a bit, so knew enough that this is a very well kept, well-equipped vehicle. You confirmed my hunch that this was, in fact, a very good value.

Thank you for your kind words. It brought a lot of attention very quickly that I wasn’t expecting. I believe I priced it fairly for the buyer and seller. I based the price off others I have seen actually sell for, not what people are asking. I recently noticed a 97 with 87k brought around 15k plus shipping. Here locally I know of a much cleaner 97 LX with a 130k brought around 12k. Mine photographs and cleans nice but you can see he is used and driven daily up close. I knew it may go to somebody sight unseen and I wanted to make sure they got into it for a price where everyone is happy.

Other versions like mine are out there priced fairly. They may have not been documented like mine but they are out there if your patient. Yes I kept it well maintained and when something broke I fixed it. When something leaked, squeaked or rattled, it was taken care of. At the end of the day though it’s still a 21 yr old truck with 263k on it. It has served me well on the different adventures with my daughter and always brought me home safe. It went to somebody local and I look forward to seeing it around in the years to come.

I’m currently looking for a 100 series to care for and continue the next chapter. If anybody knows of one I will be greatful for the information passed along.

You are welcome and again great deal,

The main point I was trying to make to srs148 is that when an offer like yours comes along that he needs to be prepared to
move very very fast. The other thing I'm trying point out to some newer folks that are asking for advice is to stop concentrating
on the mileage and look at the whole package. I would much rather buy an 80 with 220/260K that has had all recent equivalent
mechanical attention including an upper end rebuild(HG replaced as yours has had) over one with 170/190K that will have so many
maintenance item coming due(if they haven't been addressed). Hopefully some new users on here will take note.

@NC LX - those seats may be the nicest I've ever seen in an 80-series LX. Those images will haunt me as long as I own an LX450 and have to look at my, without a doubt, far inferior condition seats. Are they refinished or just really well kept? I don't remember ever seeing perforated leather in any of the ones I looked at, but then again, I've just gotten into this recently.
