1984 FJ60 Sand Cruiser (WA State)
I thought I'd never do this...I'm putting my '84 FJ60 up for sale. I originally had the intent of building this out as a light expedition rig, but time has fallen short and my new residence will require a ridiculous commute and I don't feel like riding my bike in the constant rain around here...so for all the little tips and such I have learned from 'mud, I will list everything I can think of.
I am one of three owners of this ride, it has been in my care for the last 3+ years and I have managed to put less then 1,000 miles on it since I purchased it, not due to anything other than being overseas for the majority of it and a daily commute of about 7.1 miles (roundtrip). Mileage is 178,8XX
This car is basically EXACTLY as I bought it, it is 99% stock with only the following being added:
o Cibie H4 7" Headlamps w/ H4 Osram Bulbs & Wiring Harness supplied by a mud vendor and installed by a professional
o 180 Deg thermostat
The GOOD:
Solid all around, a little better than standard wear/tear (of course the driver's seat is cracked) - NO RUST on frame
-Tranny is good
-Engine runs strong
-4WD high/low are in good working order
-Tires have are 1 year old and have less than 500M on them
The BAD:
-One of the locking hubs will only rotate from FREE to about 1/2 way to LOCK (I am going to pull it off and see if maybe was just put back together wrong following a service)
-Windshield washer fluid resevoir is cracked and needs to be replaced
-One of the rear top tailgate lift pistons was stripped when being replaced and needs some work...I have the replacement but have no access to welding mats
-Minor dent on driver's side front quarter panel...it was there when I bought it and it honestly never bothered me
I have two seperate 'mud mechanics take a look and give me some comparisons for pricing, both of which were over what I thought and what I am asking...$6000 OBO
