I would like to switch from Dino to Synthetic in my LC. Mobil 1 sells here for about $5 to $6 per quart. In this week's newspaper, Citgo Superguard Fully Synthetic is on sale for $2.90 per quart.

Anyone ever heard of or used this oil in their LC? Any thoughts, before I go out and buy some?

It is a group III oil, meaning it is highly refined dino, not true synthetic.

Compare to Shell Rotella 5W-40 (blue bottle) and Castrol Syntec regarding price, not Mobil 1.

It appears to be a decent oil from the specs I have found, but it is a $3/quart oil like the Rotella. If you want the best cold flow or are going to really push your drain intervals, you'd be better off with a true synthetic like Mobil 1, Amsoil, etc. If you are an oil change junkie like me, you buy the cheapest API SL (soon to be SM) rated oil of the proper viscosity and change it every time you change underwear!

With M1 at $4/quart at Wal-Mart, I personally am not tempted by group III oils at $3/quart.
