So I have a 62 I'm working on with a super crusty rusty and not working Circuit Opening relay. In my line of work I have access to tons of different 5 pin relays. Is there a type I could use to ask my electrician to help me put a pigtail on one and use it as a Circuit Opening Relay?
Like a double pole triple throw. Some jargon like that? Forgive me, I'm electrically un-inclined. I'd much rather spend nothing on a part I can take from my parts room than spend $50

I'm assuming someone has tried this? Paging @CruiserTrash anyone ask you to solve this yet?

Its an odd relay, than can be flipped by two coils. You could probably recreate with two relays

Sounds tricky. Might be easier to spend the $50 than to try to explain what I need to my electrician
Ha
I’ll see what he says anyway
Thank you

thanks for this.

thanks for this.
But I don’t want to stand in the way of something fun for you! :D The relay likely takes the 6 pin version of these connectors: 250 Housing Lance Armlock - ET type Connector with Tangless Terminals - http://www.cycleterminal.com/250-housing-lance.html

I may have one on hand I can test later. If it works, you can order one online from the store of your choice and make a short splice harness from the factory plug to the relay of your choice. :)

Edit, yup. Connector fits:

What is the function of this relay on the 62?

Turns on the fuel pump when engine starts. Someone hard wired my fuel pump to run with key on from the wiper fuse and relay. It pisses me off.
Also working to resolve a high idle and this is something to eliminate in that realm.
