Anyone else hating (and I'm not a Hater) the new Circuit City etc expanding banner ads? They slow down the experience AND get clicked when I'm trying to click a post... arrrggghhhh. This is the kind of thing that could make me look elsewhere for my cruiser-fix-o-the-day (well probably not, but it makes me think)
Mark

as already noted a few weeks ago, I'm working on a fix for that....been home less than 48 hours, and frankly, not on my short list of stuff to fix given I've been home less than 20 nites since Feb 1....

Didn't mean this post for you Woody... I sympathize with your schedule. I was trying to find out if it bothered others or if it was just me....
Go back to sleep now... ;-)

FILTER ADDED:

This effects ONLY the main forum listing page at IH8MUD™ Forums - the banner immediately above the 'what's going on' section is now filtered so users with 250+ posts will see a simple Google banner and not the expanding banners

Mark, others, please let me know if this is working AND let me know if there were other ad locations that were creating this issue. Please be specific, even linking a forum page so I can track them down (I've got dozens of active ad channels, and it takes a bit for me to search them out sometimes)

Thanks!

Well it's nice that that page is better... if I was ever on that page. I range all over the place... personally: All the classifieds, 40 and 60 tech and clubs are where I spend most of my time... dropping them from there would help ME...

I think it would be nice to have them gone everywhere...

which doesn't tell me WHERE you are seeing them....

just fixed from the FirstPost location as well...

The offending ads are in the centered "ads by Google" banner above the wide yellow horizontal bar with the "NEW" button in it... the ad expands down into the content/over the posts or forum list...

i thought it was just me... guess i need to be a post whore until i make it above 250...

the circuit city add aside this site rocks... Well done to all who make it what it is.

These are absolutely horrible ads. I will make it a point to not shop at Circuit City from now on. I don't think that will be a problem...

Please find a way to get rid of these.
