This is probably a dumb question but i'm new, and dumb.

Why do some 60's have circle headlights and some have square ones?

Thanks

Andrew

Cool people have square headlights

It is a 62

Jealousy is such an ugly emotion. :flipoff2:

Whatever, ive still got twice as many headlights as you. :grinpimp:

Think about it this way, lights are cool, lesbians are cool, are 2 lesbians better than 4? I think not.

The square headlight/round headlight thing only works in the states. If you bought an HJ60 then you have an HJ60, regardless of headlights. BTW, someone moved your steering wheel to the wrong side. Those darn POs...

I just bought this, and its listed as an HJ60!

I think its a 62!

Can someone inform me? It also has a 2H in it.

Thanx

It looks as if you have a JDM HJ61. It should have the 12HT engine. The 12HT is basicly a 2H with a turbo.

More informed people may correct me if I am wrong.

By the way, did you look at that HDJ81 at Bonnybrook Car Sales for $15500?

Yes

That was me. POS (in my opinion)

:)

Bonnybrook

O.k. I should explain. They had one posted on their website, and I called and they said its in, and its still available. I went and the whole show was a joke. They are very dishonest, have no moal or ethical codes, and are typical crooked used car dudes. The HDJ81 I looked at looked to be abused (tire wear, and blueish smoke in exaust) and had very little power when I test drove it. The 2H would have smoked it in a race, and thats not right. Anyways they do have a 1 year warrenty with all their stuff but I dont think you have a snoflakes hope in hell of have any luck with those people and their vehicles.

One cool note. The center console had what was like a "cooler" in it. You opened it up, and you could control the temerature. I had no idea it existed and it looked completely stock/OEM.

Canyon Creek Toyota has been 100% awesome, and they have a few Landcruiser "Guru's" for mechanics. If you go, talk to John Gaskin (awesome guy).

Thanx

60 = Round
62 = Rectangle

IIRC

That's only for North America, in the rest of the world the round headlights were 1980-1985, square headlights 1986-1990 (1992 in some markets), regardless of the motor. For example, the 3F was introduced world-wide in 1985, so there are FJ62s with round headlights.

And thats because the "2" in FJ62 doesnt denote the auto or the headlights, it designates the 3F.

I think the round headlights were from 1980-1986 if I'm not wrong.

Doesn't the 2 designate 3FE? Henry's FJ61 "Princess" is a carb'd 3F, square headlight from Venezuela. (well until he swapped to round headlight grill and the 4bt).

At any rate, it is extremely difficult to get 400W of headlight power out of 2 headlights. On a 62, you just need Wayne's harness and some reasonable lenses/bulbs. I could give a rip about cosmetics and "look," give me function. :D

Now let's hear from everyone who's converted from 60 to 62 front ends. Bet there are less than went the other way.

I think Henry's is a FJ62, it doesnt matter if its carbed or FI, a 3F is a 62.

I was under the impression that 61 was saved for the turbo charged H-series :confused:
