I am in the process of putting an FJ40 FF rear under my truck and was wondering if any one had any off the shelf Chromo shafts. I don't suspect that I will need them but I would like to have a pair of trail spares and I figured that if I could get a set of Chromoly shafts for a reasonable price I would just make the stock shafts my spares and use it an excuse to upgrade.

Thanks

Poly Performance can hook you up.

Another option is to have your existing axles Cryoed! They wont be as strong as Poly's but they wont be as brittle as stock either!

Im not really concerned with the strength but I would like to have a set for trail spares and by the time I get another stock set and have them treated I will have about as much in them as a shinny set of Poly Pro Axles.

That's good info to know. Remember however that you might be shearing hub studs before the axle breaks.

I knew that was the trade that I was making but getting rid of that Damn C Clip is worth it in my opinion. I plan to run bigger and more dowels and I may even upgrade the studs and cone washers to something bigger.

There have been a couple of threads about this in the 60 section lately. If you run two larger dowels in between some of the existing studs, you should be good. See the thread here .

True! Get the Poly's and treat your spare set. Add the 10mm pins from a 100 series and upgrade the studs to ARP's.
