My search came up empty. but Shirley, this has happened to you?

Took off both front calipers today, which were tight enough that I had to tap it with the orange hammer a couple times to get them off the rotor. It seems the insides of the pads had not been in contact with the rotor, so that area didn't wear. The rest of the pad had worn down about 1mm on each side. So the pad chipped away on the way off...

wtf, does this happen all the time? or am I the first. Ok to use? I die tomorrow? these are 100 series pads, on slotted & drilled dba's (which are already on the bubble, btw, and this didn't do them any favors).

Don't call me Shirley.....:flipoff2:

That's why you are supposed to grind the inner radius off before you put them in......

Grind the radius and put them back in.

Noob alert! Where exactly is the inner radius in that picture? I didn't grind either and I guess I should have:doh:

Slick, you are such a noob, now someone show him so i can see too. :)

I have got the same problem. It may not be visible in the first glance but look at the right side pad in the picture above. Look at the edges and try to compare that with the middle portion of the pad. Still see no difference?

So you mean just grind down the outside edge until it's level with the middle of the pad?

no, i don't think that's what they mean. Resurfacing your disks is the last thing you want to do. not trying to be argumentative with you yobbo. I do remember that there is a tab or something on the 100 series pads that needs to be ground.

Well I ground the chipped areas away so they were smooth, popped them back in. Need to get a look at some new 100 series pads, then you'll know the difference. I don't remember, and didn't install these.. but I still stop!
