Hey, I have a couple of updates.
  1. Ordered the Molle Panel for my Prospeed Rack. Looks great and works perfect with my propane mount. I run the line to my mr. buddy heater or to my stove.
  2. I added the PakRax Dash Molle Panel which looks great, I just need to add a few ram mounts to hold my gmrs radio and cell phone.
  3. Installed BFG KO3s , I ran with a 34" tire on my 100 series for many years and felt it was the perfect tire for me. I decided to do the same with the sequoia, I installed 285/75/17 this past week. I know its an odd size and not really on hand at most tire stores but felt great that my discount location had them delivered and installed the same day, tech said it wouldn't be an issue getting those in when needed.

Looking great! I run the same size tire, I think it's the perfect size on the 1st gen

Yesterday I added pinstripes, it's kinda hard to tell but it starts off as a light grey and then gets darker as it goes up from the bottom.

Sweet setup, I’m from CO as well and about to jump from the 100 series into a 1st gen sequoia. How was the switch for you?

Thanks, I've really enjoyed the Sequoia so far. I built mine out to be an overlander and not an off roader like my 100. I've done Slaughterhouse Gulch and Switzerland trail and it hung in there but would say not as solid as the 100 but it's doable if you build it out right. Overall, I enjoy the room the Sequiia offers, engine is solid and don't regret the switch. If you want to view my build let me know as I'm close to Denver.

Very nice rig OP. I also live in metro Denver and have a built-out LX470 that I am enjoying..but am wondering how it will hold up size-wise once a few more kids are in the picture. The passenger and cargo size of the 1st gen Sequoia is quite alluring.

Thanks, my model has captain chairs for the 2nd row, you might be able to find one that's not which will help with the kids, car seats. I removed the 3rd row from mine and have the seats in the garage. If you find one but need seats let me know as I'm not sure what to do with them.

A couple weeks ago my rear hatch handle finally broke and so I went ahead and picked up this combo kit from Airdown Adventures Rear Hatch Combo Kit. I followed the install video which was a huge help. My only issue was that I was unable to remove the back panel at first due to my drawer being anchored down to the 3rd row brackets and that the back door was unable to open as well. It turns out if I removed the top slide from my drawer I would have just enough room to remove the panel. It all worked out and now I can open my door from the inside which is nice. I do need to make an adjustment to the pull handle as I would like to have it not stick out so much.

Well it’s official for me, 100 series to 2g sequoia. Size and drive is excellent so far but I’ll miss the LC dearly.

I dig these. Vinyl?
I picked up the vinyl stripes from Touge Nation , I had use them before when I purchased the same stripes for my 100 LC. It's somewhat of a custom stripe as they don't advertise for 1st Gens. I went with them as their vinyl holds up. I had the same design on my 100 for a couple of years and had no issues so I went with what works.

I installed a Lensun 90w hood mount solar panel this past weekend. The install was pretty simple, someone on Youtube has an install video that I followed along with the instructions. The only issue I ran into was that the vinyl decal that gets mounted first had some damage, I was unable to get it to flatten out because it had 3 - 4 ripples in it. I thought it would flatten out once left in the sun for about an hour, no luck. I sprayed my hood with a mixture of water and baby shampoo which I've done before. It's a nice panel but I'm only getting 50w in direct sunlight from this 90w panel. I was hoping for about 75w but it'll do as I will only need it to maintain my 32qt fridge. I will put it to the test in a couple weeks.

How's it going? I thought I would post up my 1st Gen Sequoia build as I'm starting to see more of these 1st Gens out on the trail here in CO. Prior to picking up this limited 07, I had a 06 100 Series LC which was fully built out. The LC was awesome and got me where I needed to go for the 9 years I had it. I wanted to get a 1st Gen Sequoia as I wanted to do more overlanding as I do a lot of bouncing around when I'm out camping and fishing. I had used a roof top tent for a couple of years and although it worked out great I wanted something different, so here we are.

My current build:
  1. Suspension from 1st Gen Offroad - Icon 2.5" Front Lift, SPC UCA, Extend Front Sway Bar lInks. I left the rear air bags in place as they work fine, it levels out when needed and the ride is not that bad. I did purchase some OME shocks for the rear but so far no need for them to be installed.
  2. Coastal Offroad Front Bumper Kit
  3. Ironman 4x4 9500lbs Winch w/Synthetic Rope
  4. Brute Force Fab Rock Sliders DYI Kit
  5. 4x Rigid Cube Lights
  6. Prospeed Rack
  7. Kammock Crosswing Awning
  8. DFG Offroad Shower Suite
  9. Midland MXT400 GMRS
  10. OWL Expedition media mount, works perfect for the 100 but had to drill an extra hole in the plate to mount into the sequoia radio
  11. DFG Offroad single drawer with fridge slide and table mount
  12. Dual battery set-up with 2 optima red tops
  13. RAZR Maxxis Tires
  14. KMC Wheels Summit 17"
  15. Redarc trailer brake
  16. Xprite 42" LED light bar, slim design
  17. Prospeed Attic Rack
  18. Prospeed Molle Panel
  19. PakRax Molle Dash Mount
  20. Lensun 90w Hood Mount Solar Panel

Here is my sleeping set up. I do have a tent that wraps around the hatch and the back bumper, it's perfect for this set up and is cheap. I will take a pic the next time I have that installed. So far this set up works perfect for me and is comfortable with the mattress. I have a few mesh screen covers that I place over the doors and I also picked up a full set of weather tech window shades that fit great and blacks out the entire cabin.
Sleep Setup
1. 6" Inofia Tri-folding mattress 75"x25"x6"
2. Ironman 25 degree swag bag
3. WeatherTech full vehicle sun shade
4. Hasika SUV Camping Tent

A pic with the awning and shower suite set up. I do have poles, tie downs for the Kammock awning if needed. It sets up super quick and folds up quick as well. I don't think I would go back to a standard awning after owning one of these.

In the market for a roof rack and I’m considering Prospeed, Prinsu and Sherpa. What are your current thoughts on the Prospeed? Holding up well? Any issues?

No complaints so far and it's held up well. I also have the attic shelf and exterior molle panel from Prospeed, overall I'm happy with the purchases. I've attached several items to the top but not a RTT so I can't speak to that but would assume it would hold up.

Hey bud very nice build, I had a quest about your drawer system what hardware did you use to mount to the 3rd row brackets

Thanks! I purchased this kit D-Ring Kit when I purchased my drawer from DFG Offroad. I was only able to use one of the d-rings which I attached to one of the anchor points for the 3rd row and then to the drawer. I needed additional anchor points and so the only thing I could up with was to add a couple mounting plates that I had that would attach to the drawer.

I had some time this weekend to finally get power installed in the rear of the Sequoia. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward project. The only real challenge was figuring out how to remove those mushroom clips on the rear panel, it took a bit of trial and error to get that sorted out. Once that was handled, wire routing went smoothly and came out really clean. I ran 8 AWG wire from the house battery, through an 80-amp inline fuse, all the way back to a Blue Sea 5025 fuse block. I drilled a hole in the small black pocket in the rear compartment to feed the wires through before reinstalling everything. From the fuse block, I ran 14 AWG wire to my USB ports, 12V lighter socket, and switches. I also decided to hardwire my fridge directly to the fuse block. For that, I drilled a small hole, added a grommet for protection, and ran the wire through there. The house battery is kept charged by a hood-mounted solar panel, which has been doing great especially with the clear, sunny 90°F days we've been getting here in Denver. Planning to test the setup by letting the fridge run overnight to see how the system handles a full cycle. I know I went with a hirgher gauge wire for this install. My current plan is to keep what I have installed, I have a large Anker battery that I use for other items when camping.
