just wondering if anyone is running a chevy radiator in there 40.my stock one just s*** the bed and was thinking of replacing it with the chevy. I know about aluminum but money is tight so the bone yard is my friend. i'm running a mild 350 to toyota stock drivetrain and axels.

Also keep in mind that the radiator that cooled a V8 in a Chevy may not cool that same V8 in your Toyota (different engine compartment sizes, engine closer to sheet metal in your Toyota). Try to find something in a 4 core, big, atleast 45 gpm. Also, radiator-to-fan positioning just as important, as well as fan blade choice!!!!! PM me for some opinions since I earn my living with this stuff.

Sorry to hijack,
Do you guys have any replacement rads for HJ60s? Or any alternative?
All the places I checked that offer one ,when I look at the pics ,it is not like mine.
I don't want to pay close to 700 to find that it won't work.

with a modified stock shroud and a good stock radiator it should cool a mild 350 easy.

...didn't work for me and 9998 out of 10,000 others but to each his own. The necessity of a larger radiator is a whole other unwinable debate. There are always several ways to skin a cat.

Some think the disc conversions retaining the stock coarse birfields are the bomb too.

Don't buy a second hand radiator from a wrecker it will be in a condition as bad as your own one.

Call a raditor shop about a replacement, here in oz there is what they call a universal land cruiser kit (I don't know if it is avaliable in the USA). Basically it is a blank radiator from a 40 series and they soldier in the inlet and out to where you need them depending on what model you have. I got one made for a BJ42 and it cost about A$450 from memory.

Look at the Summit universal aluminum ones and make it fit. Quality is pretty good for around $200.
