I didn’t read the rest of your post but that statement is not correct unless you agree that causing huge amounts of people to come to your quiet little trails and leave them worse than they found them is a success. Seems great on paper tho, and I bet somebody got a giant bonus for that idea.
I was only referring to the way they engaged their base people and got them to visit the local trails and ORV Parks.
With the increase of people going out it provided them with a resource from the Manufacturer to find local trails and to also have a grading system to tell them what they can and can't do with whatever level their vehicle is at. I know we all rag on Jeep but they do a good job of promoting their brand and offloading to their customers.
Sadly how the base acts and deports themselves on the trails is a different side of the coin altogether. More education and leading by example is needed from all groups. Not everyone is kind and understands the rules that should govern us all on the trail. With the onset of social media and the forum and old school clubs falling by the wayside more and more people are just going out and not treading lightly on the trails and are acting like a heard of drunken elephants out there.
Where there once was the club leadership and years of knowledge and experience that was passed on and new members were shown how to do things the right way. Now it is all just Facebook groups and YouTube videos that are taking over but not really teaching the new generation the right way. It is not just on the trails but in life in general... damn kids get off my grass!!
Jeepers get bashed the most because they are the most visible and largest group out there. Are they all bad, no. Yet like the fart can equipped civics they are the ones that get blamed for everything.
.... sorry for the tirad but its a shame things are getting more and more crowded out there and will only get more-so in the future......
but MY orginal point was that it was a cool site to get stickers if you were so inclined to show off what and where you have been... again if your into that type of thing.
