Hey all, I have a 2006 LX470 with 256k miles and am having issues solving a P0441 CEL. I have replaced the gas cap with an OEM one and had the purge valve replaced (not OEM part). The CEL still comes back on after 10-100 miles after clearing it. Would you recommend the next steps be doing a smoke test or going ahead and replacing the Charcoal Canister? Any recommendations from someone who has been able to solve this would be great.

I also had P0441, P0446, P0455, and P2418 on my 2005 lx470 and was told I need a new charcoal canister. Instead I did some troubleshooting. I tested the VSV under the hood with a 9V battery and heard the solenoid click when voltage was applied to the two leads. There is another VSV or purge valve on the charcoal canister that failed the test. I live in the northeast so it's pretty rusty underneath. Couldn't find a part number for that VSV as it comes with the charcoal canister. I did find a direct replacement for it though. I replaced the old VSV with Dorman 911-601 $45 and zip tied it in place. Cleared the codes and it's all good again

fwiw my 05 had EVAP codes intermittently at about 250ishK miles. A smoke test revealed a ::barely visible:: leak around the brand new gas cap because the filler neck was misshapen from years of hanging fuel nozzles on it. My mechanics told me they could replace the neck or "press down hard" when putting the cap back on. So, every fuel fill up, my 170lb self is up on my tip toes pressing down with my bodyweight while screwing on my gas cap. This does the trick, but I swear if I don't press down like that, the CEL pops within 15 minutes and then I have to re-do the cap and clear the code. I've been doing this for like 5 years now.
