Check connection of the air conditioner-- NAV Unit (1 Viewer)

I found an entire head unit, radio and AC Amplifier from the junk yard. The entire unit worked fine. To test my old unit, and swapped out the AC amplifier to isolate the real issue. So, I also have to MFD units at this point. I tried to pull the circuit board out of my broken AC amplifier (that is all it is -- a circut board encased in black plastic)-- but I do not see an easy way to get the board out. I am told that this circut board is the brains of the AC system. My symptons were the "Check connection of the AC unit" error msg, I could not work any of the climate buttons, and my outside temp would not display.

Thanks. Did you have to replace the "AC Amplifier" or were you able to fix it somehow?

Hit me up if you need the ac amp thingy. I have one that I pulled from my 2004 lx when I did nav delete.

Thanks for all the info. I'll let you know if it turns out to be the same issue with mine. Sounds the exact same so I am guessing this will fix the problem.

Thanks for the offer. The guy I purchased the MFD from has the A/C amplifier so I believe he is just going to send it to me as well. If not, I will definitely hit you up.

@merbesfield Were you ever able to resolve this issue? I have the exact same problem with my 2004 and am wondering if it's the AC amplifier as mentioned above.

No I have not. It has only happened a couple of times and I "think" it was after a heavy rain, but not 100% sure. Please let me know if you solve the problem.

Thanks for the update. We've had no rain here and my cruiser is mostly garaged. If it doesn't resolve itself, I may replace the AC amplifier as mentioned above as all other things on my MFD work. I'm just glad that it's stuck in Auto mode and set to low 70s, ha.

No doubt. I seem to remember also that if i turned it off and back on it fixed it, but obviously that is not working for you. GL

When you say turn it off, are you talking about the vehicle or the climate control "off" button? I'm afraid to do the latter as it may not come back on at all. Thanks again.

Hey. Any chance you still have the AC Amp? I think I now need one. Can't get the heating fans going and am getting that same error message. I also n oticed some of the dash lights (P, R, N, D...)shut off (alongside the outside temp etc).
