I don't post up very often [read: lurker], but if I do it's because I've convinced myself that I have something great to share with the community that has given me so much great knowledge.
I hope this post falls into that category, but I guess it's always possible that this is already common knowledge.

P.S. - I searched the 60's section for baking soda and I found a thread on soda blasting the chassis & undercarriage, but I didn't see one related to carb cleaning.
P.P.S - Some of the gun forums that I frequent have stated that baking soda also works as a fine polishing compound to smooth up the slide-to-frame fit on a 1911 or similar autoloader, but now I'm way off topic. :whoops:
