Looking for a driver‘s side door for a 78 FJ 40 in good shape.

Located in Mooresville NC.

Thanks!

I have a nice hard-to-find '74 door that's a beautiful patina original blue. But, probably, not what you're looking for.

With the reproduction doors - they take a LOT of work to get the weatherstrip/window runs/moudling to all fit correctly. The opening width for the glass is about 3/8" of an inch too small and needs to be opened up. Lot of grinding and filing. Not impossible, just something to be aware of

Thanks for that info! I may keep looking for a used until no other option. Thanks!

Dead on….. also none of the opening for the capture nuts at the mechanisms lines up correctly. I had to cut all lower corners of the window frame as it has extra material leading to touch the glass. Never again !
I have a good amount of OEM doors but for sure keep them all after dealing with loosing hours (paid by friend)

Let me look in our stash tmrw. We have doors for 75+, but they are mostly allocated for ongoing projects. However I think I recall I have one extra. I just cant remember which side.

Do you have a completely bad door that you are trying to replace? Or do you have one that's repairable?

Thx,
Clint

Hey Clint, I’m not sure it’s completely bad. Below are a few pics. I’m looking for one that is rust/dent free. Kind of hard to see but there’s a few dents on the outside panel.

PM me if you have one! Thank you!
