I've done a few searches and haven't found everything. If I wanted to change all my fluids. (rear end, front end, transfer, trans, antifreeze, and obviously oil.) How much of each fluid type do I need. I know I need 90weight for the rear, front, trans, not sure if the transfer case takes 90 or not. The antifreeze just need the quantity and what oil is suggested for a motor that has an unknown amount of miles. Any help would be great.

I buy 90w in a 5 gallon bucket. You can use it in the T-case as well. Make sure you can get your fill plugs out before you remove your drain plugs.

I will post up volumes for each of your housings when I get to my shop.

I use 20w50 in the motor but I live in California and it does not get that cold. I found that when I use 10w30 it tends to burn a bit of oil.

8.4 quarts?!? Does yours really take that much? My F only takes 6 quarts. Other than that the numbers look good.

Late 1975 they changed to a 2F and it has an oiler cooler.

The capacities came from the FSM and double checked in the haynes and Chilton manual.

I have yet to see an oil filter that hold 2 qrts so that is probably bleeding the oiler cooler system as well.

I have the 3 speed trans I'm sure that changes the amount. I also have a 4speed in the garage and it's much bigger.

oh yeah D thanks for the info. I need to get me a manual I know.

That's mainly what I was looking for was an idea of how much to buy. Don't want to have to return to the store for just a little that always sucks.

The Haynes Repair Manuals are excellent. Have FUn.

Been changing oil in 2fs a long time. Oil and filter changes always takes 9 qts.
