I told some people last weekend I got my chains from chains.com. That was wrong - it was tirechain.com. Good prices though. (Winter starts in a week...)

At this time I would not recommend Tirechains.com due to poor customer service and poor communication. I placed an order with them on Dec 10 and received a tracking number the same day with delivery expected today. Tracking number seems to have issues. Yesterday, I received another tracking number, which suggested a double order. They don't answer their phones, or their email.

Hmmm... More recent than my experience, which was two years ago.

Jon -

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about using them, but may try somewhere else instead. Please keep us posted with your results (or lack thereof!).

Evan

I wish I did a search before ordering. They don't have very good reviews.

Doesn't anyone local carry chains?

I called around, and they were in very short supply for the larger sizes. I found the ones for mine (285/65/16) at Autozone, and they were the last two pairs I could find on the westside/rio rancho. I did get recommended to call someone in Cedar Crest. I don't remember the name.. but I think it was Desert Rat that recommended them.

Then again, I have smaller tires than most of you.

Dan, Where did the General go?

Huh?

<---------------He's right here.

Must have been in the bathroom dealing with that itch.

I picked up a set of chains for 35's last winter on e-bay pretty cheap (private seller).

Too bad I can't run them on the 4 Runner. I don't have enough fender clearance. These 315's are tucked pretty tight.

Hi Jim,

So, are you selling them then? How much? Not that I have a use for them (no 35's right now) but I think there might be some here who are interested. What sizes will they fit?

I could be interested if Steve doesn't want the first call (and if Jim is looking to sell them). I've got the 315/75R16s on the 80. I think they are roughly equivalent to a 13.5 inch wide 35 diameter tire.

Minor redemption. The chains were delivered yesterday and they were the correct size. Bring on the snow!

Somehow I missed Evan's post. I can't use those chains, so go for it Evan!
