I have available a drivetrain from a 1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser.

Engine is disassembled for you already, ready to be rebuilt. 3 speed manual transmission, clutch & bell housing, transfer case, as well as the front and rear driveshafts.

REVISION: Someone here in the forums pointed out that this could be a '72 or '73 motor, and the crankshaft and pistons are missing. I have reached out to the seller to have him go by the mechanic's place and retrieve those and send them to me.

See the pics, and if you see something you want, make me an offer.

Interested in the carburetor and air cleaner housing. Looks like at least one ear is broken on the exhaust manifold where the head pipe attaches

Yes, it looks like the exhaust manifold is broken. But the intake looks fine.

Let me know what all you are interested in, and make me an offer. Then I'll take a look back at what they seem to have gone for in the past and if it's a fair offer we will move forward.

Thanks,
Don

The valve cover appears it could have cap to fill the oil and not seeing opening for the oil fill in the block. Possible this isn't the original engine to the cruiser. 72-73 models have this setup with a remote oil filter. Is there a crankshaft? Not seeing one in the pictures.

Carb has a return line, which didn't start until 2/73. But I see a side mounted oil filler tube. So my WAG is that we're looking at a partial collection from two different motors John.

In any event, I will pass. When the OP decides to post some prices...

I just went out in the garage and checked, and I don't see the crankshaft, or the pistons. It was getting dark last night when we unloaded it, and on top of being exhausted I had taken pain medication. Thanks for pointing that out. I have reached out to the seller to let him know those weren't there and I need them shipped to me. I'll revise the listing too.

Could very well be. I'm new to all this FJ40 stuff, so I appreciate all the knowledge you guys can share with me.

Guess I'm missing it. I see the fuel pump opening. Oil check tube then the distributor opening.

Thought the PCV fittings on the side of the push rod cover didn't start until the oil fill moved to the valve cover?

I went out and looked at the carb and it is an Aisin Carb. It was so dusty that I didn't notice it at first, but the air cleaner housing still has the factory label on it and it looks to be in pretty good shape. I've done a bit of searching in the forums and classified section to see what a fair price would be. Make me an offer, and if it is fair, it's yours. + Shipping

Hey All You Experts in here... Some have said they think this may be a '72 or '73, heck if I know. I did, however, earlier today post some pics of the carb and the breather (sticker is still on it and perfectly preserved under all the dust).

Can any of you tell me if this breather would work with a 1978 2F engine? If so, I'll just keep it to use with the replacement drivetrain.

Thank you!

Does anyone know if this breather would work on my 1978 2F engine I will be using?

That's an F air cleaner. It clamps on to the Carburetor. The 2F Carburetor has a stud. Height of the Carburetor might be an issue as well. The two bolts on the cylinder will match the bracket for the air cleaner. Mark @65swb45 is the expert for carburetor/ air cleaner questions

LAST CALL: Transmission is spoken for. If anyone is interested in anything else, speak up quickly because I need the space in my garage for my FJ40 AND my wife and I are tired of the smell (gear oil STINKS) so anything not bought by Monday will be hauled to the scrap metal by the pounds place to be crushed and/or melted. I'm not a hoarder, and it WILL go if none of you want it.

Thank you!
