First off, excuse my English if i will make any grammar mistakes. It's a foreign language of mine.
A few years ago after i bought my 2nd gen 4 Runner, and a first ever Toyota, a new world opened up, and i think i fell in love a little.
Soon after, my next wish was to own an 80 series as i loved the idea of a solid front axle and factory lockers that 4 Runner was lacking. It was also lacking power and interior space but that's for another thread.
Anyways. Went hunting for an 80 series with a few "must have's":
Lockers, AC, Sunroof, manual, turbo diesel, ABS and Airbags as i planned to at least daily the car part time and tow with it ocasionally as well.
Such cars in Europe are quite scarce although i looked all over.
At the end, i posted an add of what i am looking for "locally". And after a while, to my surprise, i received a message. An off market deal i could not pass.
It checked all the boxes, except the sunroof was missing. But hey, you can't have it all.
Nevertheless i took it home smiling.
I have owned it for a year now and it has been great. The car with it's 430.000km is a warrior. It serves me as a daily, an overlanding/road trip vehicle and a tow rig as well.
I plan to keep it off the road in winter for the most part, as here, Japanese cars and salt, don't get along for too long.
Besides i might get bored so a cheap beater for a "winterwagen" is a must.
